Job Description

Lead a financial crimes product squad focused on AML monitoring technology enhancements and alignment across teams.

Responsibilities

Oversee timely and accurate delivery of projects implementing or enhancing technology for financial crimes as a product owner on a financial crimes squad
Set squad priorities by balancing timelines, strategic goals, production issue resolution, and other queued work
Provide regular reporting on squad status, accomplishments, and challenges
Partner with financial crimes subject matter experts to capture and deliver project requirements
Develop a roadmap for new or enhanced monitoring use cases and coordinate delivery with partners across squads
Strengthen and implement the Line of Business compliance program in alignment with existing laws and regulations, including governance, policies and procedures, monitoring, reporting, communications, and education
Work with leaders across squads to explain and prioritize critical AML initiatives
Prioritize both technical and business needs to support a highly available system that meets bank security and availability standards
Articulate the business value and reasoning for projects to the Aegis squad, supporting engineering and team understanding
Communicate significant issues to senior management
Liaison with regulators as appropriate
Build industry knowledge and relationships through industry networking
Maintain awareness of division goals, regulatory and legislative developments, and industry trends
Work with senior leadership to set departmental strategic direction and execute against goals and objectives
Participate in and/or lead recurring peer meetings to share knowledge of current and emerging issues and environmental risk
Oversee squad performance to support Financial Crimes division goals and Bancorp’s continued success in financial services
Support recruiting by conducting interviews and providing candid, timely feedback
Ensure proper orientation for assigned employees, both formal and informal
Identify challenging work assignments and develop mentoring and education programs to build exposure to proactive problem solving
Maintain ongoing two-way, timely, clear performance feedback to support healthy, proactive working relationships
Encourage open dialogue to promote creative, out-of-the-box problem solving
Review and implement approved solutions for Regulatory Monitoring and Change Management program ownership
Ensure enhancement and ongoing support of AML monitoring technology (SAS AML)
Lead a squad to improve identification of money laundering and predicate crimes while aligning work across squads

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience required
Demonstrate working or functional proficiency to apply software applications (Microsoft Office Suite) without assistance and with minimal supervision
Ability to understand and conceptualize basic statistical analysis and theories
Experience manipulating data (validating, correcting, reformatting, and transforming) across formats such as spreadsheets, flat files, and databases
Ability to oversee and manage technology budgets and plan for future business needs
Strong analytical skills to gather, assess, and present quantitative and qualitative data
Ability to develop and support conclusions and make practical recommendations to business lines
Ability to develop and implement controlled, systematic, step-by-step processes based on guidance and procedures
Ability to work independently and in a team to plan and complete projects, including defining responsibilities, tasks, and deadlines
Ability to collaborate across units (including Legal, Audit, or Business Units) to identify and solve problems or resolve issues
Excellent oral and written communication skills, communicating upward, downward, and laterally
Positive business presence with management and external contacts
Sound judgment and logical, critical thinking when developing and recommending solutions
Knowledge of the bank’s payments flow process, systems, and teams
Ability to network with payments flow teams to accomplish project goals
Ability to maintain professional composure in a dynamic environment with multiple competing priorities
Strong SQL and data skills to support research and respond to regulator, audit, and management questions

Bank Secrecy Act Requirements

Responsible for adhering to Bank Secrecy Act reporting and record keeping requirements and Anti-Money Laundering rules and regulations
Observe economic sanctions by prohibiting transactions as specified by the Office of Foreign Asset Control (OFAC)
Follow the bank’s customer identification program (CIP) rules
Observe all bank policies and procedures relating to BSA, OFAC, CIP, and related acts
