We are looking for a Product Design Director to lead the Global Enterprise Affairs (GEA) team within Experience Design. This role will oversee two emerging areas within GEA: the Accelerator and the Enablement and Innovation teams. - Cross-Functional Influence and Executive Presence: Work across multiple functional areas and with senior leaders, effectively influencing priorities and steering high-stakes initiatives.
- Navigating Ambiguity and Context Shifting: Operate effectively in evolving contexts, preserve options, make decisions with incomplete data, and maintain momentum during pivots.
- Building a Design Org of the Future: Scale the function, design the future organizational structure, and develop current designers as the team grows, leveraging technology to broaden design reach.
Experience Design Philosophy
The Experience Design team at Capital One is at the forefront of enriching our customers’ digital and physical experiences. We foster collaboration, authenticity, and healthy critique, honor diversity of thought, cultivate belonging, and elevate one another. If you thrive in an environment that encourages experimentation, learning, and improving banking for good, we’d love to hear from you.

You will guide high-impact, complex projects and define design strategy that supports the organization’s broader vision and business goals.
- Product Design Expertise: Apply deep leadership in product design to elevate the practice, spanning interaction, visual and service design. Partner with cross-functional teams to optimize tools, platforms, frameworks, and design systems, and help the team produce artifacts such as vision stories, journey maps, blueprints, high-fidelity designs, and prototypes.
- Leadership: Create an inclusive, positive team environment and set a vision for collaboration that makes the team feel valued and heard.
- Human-Centered: Champion the voices of customers and partners, aligning business outcomes with user needs to deliver experiences that exceed expectations.
- Business-Focused: Demonstrate expert knowledge of products, processes, customers, competitors, and market trends to shape how design addresses business challenges.
- Problem-Solving: Share insights on technical advances and data capabilities, guiding teams through constraints to enable bold technological solutions and efficient data strategies.
- Collaboration: Connect across teams and portfolios, aligning people and processes to deliver coherent experiences and accelerate delivery while elevating design value.
