We are seeking a Principal Product Manager with a strong technical background to drive DynamoDB strategy, roadmap, and pricing, focusing on customer outcomes and scalable NoSQL database solutions.
Location and Compensation
Location: Seattle, WA onsite. Compensation: USD 181,100 to 245,000 per year.
Responsibilities
- Own and advance key focus areas that enable customers to be successful with DynamoDB, directing the product effort from concept to impact.
- Guide initiatives such as event driven architectures, scalable and serverless models, developer experience, data protection and security, price to performance optimization, extensibility, and global app development.
- Define and communicate the strategy for your focus area, grounding decisions in customer needs and leveraging service telemetry, user feedback, and industry trends to craft PRFAQs, pricing narratives, and naming conventions.
- Hold yourself and cross-functional partners accountable for delivering outstanding customer outcomes.
- Launch is the beginning of ongoing growth, with responsibilities that include driving adoption, iterating on feedback, and educating customers post-launch.
- Collaborate with engineering, legal, documentation, marketing, sales, solution architecture, finance, and GTM teams to drive growth and alignment.
- Provide clarity in ambiguity, act as a builder, and maintain a customer-obsessed mindset throughout product development.
Requirements
- 7+ years of experience as a Technical Product Manager.
- 5+ years of hands-on technical experience in software development, networking, IT, or related fields.

A Day in the Life
The DynamoDB team operates with a high degree of ownership, making each day distinct. As a business owner and customer-facing representative, you serve as the primary point of contact for partner teams. Weekly activities involve engaging with customers to understand their challenges, analyzing service and business metrics, drafting PRFAQs and pricing narratives, and collaborating with engineering to iterate on product decisions. You will coordinate with marketing, sales, solution architecture, legal, support, and documentation to envision the next steps and explore growth opportunities across technologies and markets.
Daily, you will work alongside AWS leaders, engineers, sales and marketing experts, data scientists, content creators, and other specialists to ensure DynamoDB success. You will meet customers to assess strengths and weaknesses, synthesize feedback with data and industry knowledge, and translate insights into strategies and testable hypotheses. As a central figure, colleagues will turn to you to solve problems and connect them with the right experts. You will continually learn by engaging with experts inside the company and the broader tech community, building samples and demos, pursuing side projects, and seeking mentorship. The customer base comprises developers and technical decision-makers, so technical documentation, architecture diagrams, and code examples are tools you will use to understand problems and communicate solutions.
