Job Description

The role of MVDC and HVDC Engineering Product Manager defines, develops, and manages product offerings driven by customer requirements and market needs. This position functions as the interface among customers, engineering, commercial operations, and manufacturing, with growth opportunities in a rapidly expanding technology area.

Responsibilities

Capture and translate customer requests, market signals, and technical requirements into MVDC and HVDC product specifications and solution concepts.
Define product features, functional requirements, equipment configurations, and value-added capabilities that align with customer needs and strategic business goals.
Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, and commercial teams to confirm feasibility, cost positioning, and delivery capability.
Establish and maintain the MVDC/HVDC product roadmap, detailing technology evolution, feature enhancements, performance improvements, and points of differentiation.
Assist in developing technical documentation, including product specifications, functional descriptions, system architectures, performance data, and application guidelines.
Provide technical support during proposals, reviewing customer specifications, drafting technical responses, and assessing solution compliance.
Engage with customers, EPC firms, and utility stakeholders to clarify requirements, solicit feedback, and ensure the product capability meets expectations.
Participate in cross-functional design reviews, risk assessments, and product validation activities to ensure quality and reliability of MVDC/HVDC solutions.
Coordinate lifecycle activities from introduction through optimization, updates, and controlled phase-out decisions.
Monitor industry trends, regulatory developments, and technology advances to shape product strategy and maintain market competitiveness.
Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance performance, manufacturability, cost efficiency, and system integration capabilities.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Electrical, Power Systems, Energy, or related field).
At least ten years of engineering experience.
Minimum five years of experience in HVDC, MVDC, power electronics, utility systems, or related technologies.
Strong understanding of power conversion systems, grid integration concepts, and direct-current transmission or distribution applications.
Ability to interpret technical specifications, system designs, and engineering documentation.
Demonstrated analytical, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in product management, applications engineering, or technical leadership roles within power systems, grid technologies, or converter systems.
Familiarity with standards and guidelines applicable to HVDC/MVDC equipment (IEC, IEEE, CIGRÉ, etc.).
Knowledge of converter stations, DC switchgear, power electronics (VSC/CSC), protection systems, and system integration.
Prior experience working with EPCs, utilities, OEMs, or transmission system operators.
