Responsibilities
- Support Data Center Design Engineering, Principal Engineering, and Hardware Engineering teams to turn innovative concepts into new power distribution products for data centers
- Lead new product design and development, gathering design requirements and capturing customer input
- Collaborate with mechanical and structural engineering, reliability, QA/QC, and compliance to create well considered products
- Design solutions that meet quality standards while delivering return on investment
- Work with global suppliers and manufacturers to specify electrical equipment, devices, and bill of materials
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and municipal requirements and building codes across regions
- Prepare, review, and approve product designs and drawings including electrical BOMs, configurations, layouts, assemblies, and wiring drawings
- Define project scope and provide technical support before and during manufacturing
- Collaborate with field engineering and commissioning teams to set up test processes and validate installation, operation, and performance
- Manage concurrent projects across multiple geographical regions
- Lead within the group and with internal and external teams supporting the data center
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field
- 8+ years of Electrical Product Design for Power Distribution Equipment or UPS; or 8+ years of Data Center or Mission-Critical Design, Construction, or Operations
- Professional Engineering or Architectural License
- Knowledge of building codes and regulations for the region
- Experience carrying design concepts from exploration through development to deployment or mass production
- Experience reading, interpreting, and creating construction drawings, specifications, and submittal documents
