Amazon EFS is looking for a Senior Product Manager Tech to shape and deliver product strategy across Amazon EFS and Amazon S3 Files, a service launched in April 2026. This role sits at the intersection of customer needs and AWS technical execution, with ownership spanning roadmap, integrations, pricing, and customer escalations for cloud-based shared file storage.
Role Overview
You will define the vision and multi-year roadmap for EFS and S3 Files by working backwards from what customers are building, covering use cases from ML training and data preparation to agentic AI, analytics, content management, and container storage. You will also set API requirements and align technical design decisions with scale, performance, and extensibility considerations.
Responsibilities
- Develop the product vision and PR/FAQs, and set a multi-year roadmap for EFS and S3 Files.
- Drive integrations with AWS compute, AI, and analytics services and partners, along with core file system features.
- Make scope, schedule, and one-way door tradeoffs while partnering with engineering on technical design.
- Own pricing, packaging, messaging, and go-to-market activities, enabling sales and solutions architects to support adoption and migrations.
- Work directly with technical customers and manage escalations through resolution, including participation in the on-call rotation.
- Define success metrics, run business reviews, and lead operational improvements, including cost reductions.
- Communicate strategy and results to AWS leadership and mentor other product managers.
Requirements
- 5+ years of technical product management with internet business experience.
- 5+ years of technical experience (software development, network development, IT, or related).
- 5+ years working as a Technical Product Manager.
- 7+ years of full product life cycle experience.
- 5+ years of P&L management and pricing experience.
- 5+ years of creating written docs for the development of new products.
- Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative or technical field such as computer science, engineering, or statistics.
- Experience taking a product from conception and definition through engineering design and into market.
- Experience delivering large-scale SaaS, P&PaaS, or LaaS products with responsibility across the full lifecycle, from concept through go-to-market.
- Knowledge of engineering practices across the full software, hardware, and network development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, certification, and live site operations.
- Experience delivering software products and features using agile methodologies.
- Experience collaborating with customers, technical teams, and management to gather requirements and translate them into technical designs and product features.
- Preferably product management experience in IT Infrastructure, including storage, file systems, networking, and/or internet business.
- Knowledge of file storage workloads, file system protocols (NFS, SMB), distributed file systems, and cloud storage architectures.
- Knowledge of file storage performance optimization, caching strategies, and storage tiering.
