Location and travel
Based in Spring Lake, MI with a hybrid schedule requiring three days on-site and two days remote each week, plus additional in-office presence as project needs arise. Expect travel to roughly 5 to 10 locations annually for tradeshows, customer visits, and field research.
Responsibilities
- Track dental industry trends in restorative dentistry and identify opportunities to sharpen product development.
- Conduct primary and secondary research to understand customer needs, competitive dynamics, and new product opportunities.
- Support management of matrix system product lines, including positioning, competitive analysis, and roadmap development.
- Spot product improvements, line extensions, and new opportunities.
- Work with R&D, engineering, and operations to define product requirements and specifications.
- Map clinical workflows and assess unmet needs to uncover adjacent opportunities beyond core categories.
- Carry out field research via dental office visits, trade shows, and collaboration with sales teams.
- Evaluate opportunities for both consumable and reusable product offerings.
- Assist in developing and launching new products from concept through commercialization.
- Contribute to business cases with market analysis, competitive landscape, financial projections, and go-to-market plans.
- Participate in cross-functional New Product Development efforts across engineering, operations, sales, and marketing.
- Support the New Product Review process and related documentation.
- Set up and monitor key performance metrics for product lines.
- Analyze sales trends, SKU performance, and regional performance to identify improvement opportunities.
- Identify slow-moving SKUs and recommend actions to improve inventory efficiency and profitability.
- Support the creation of reporting tools and dashboards to enable data-driven decisions.
- Contribute to product-level financial analysis to guide prioritization and investments.
- Build and refine financial models including NPV, contribution margin, and ROI analyses.
- Collaborate with sales and marketing to align product strategies and support product-specific initiatives.
- Participate in trade shows and customer-facing activities to gather insights and support product adoption.
- Foster relationships with customers, key opinion leaders, and partners to support development and commercialization.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in business or marketing; engineering background preferred.
- Track record of high achievement through education, internships, professional experience, or relevant activities.
- Experience in business analysis, data analysis, market research, or related disciplines is a plus.
