Job Description

The Aftermarket Product Manager role at Continental Group Sector ContiTech is based onsite in Fairlawn, Ohio (onsite). This position oversees the aftermarket portfolio for tensioners, belts, and kits, directing market research, content creation, catalog maintenance, and new product development from concept to launch. It requires coordination with distributors, suppliers, SAP data management, and warranty resolution to support growth and strong customer outcomes.

Responsibilities

Conduct market research and engage with customers to gather insights
Create, collaborate on, and maintain marketing and technical content
Manage the product catalog for Tensioners, Belts & Kits
Identify sunsetting products and craft strategies to boost sales or determine obsolescence
Detect gaps in products or categories and drive efforts to fill them
Develop and bring new products to market (timing belt, accessory drive, auxiliary water pump, some metric belts and tensioners) from concept to launch
Strengthen market presence and reinforce brand perception
Manage suppliers and materials
Maintain SAP data and settings for the portfolio
Collaborate with Distribution Centers for kitting business
Resolve warranty claims and address technical escalations from Sales and Customer Service
Create SOPs and guideline tasks to establish protocols

Requirements

Bachelor's degree or higher in Engineering, Marketing, Business or related fields, or in lieu of a degree 5+ years of industry and/or product management experience
Experience converting a major customer's business from a competitor and developing, presenting, gaining approval, and executing on major business cases
Sales and customer relationship management and development
Presentation skills including working knowledge of PowerPoint
Strong negotiation abilities
Financial acumen to manage sales, margin, cost, and working capital and to read and prepare business cases
Strong communication skills
Emotional intelligence and cultural sensitivity
Knowledge of diverse industrial markets
Business planning and forecasting
Automotive aftermarket product and customer knowledge
Knowledge of Continental policies, procedures and values
Experience executing along the sales cycle to pursue and close new customers and new business
Ability to translate applications and opportunities into business cases for evaluation
