Target is seeking a Director of Quantitative UX Research and AI Enablement in Minneapolis, MN (remote) to lead enterprise UX quantitative research strategy, experience measurement, and responsible AI enabled research. The role oversees a team of five researchers and drives major cross functional initiatives. Salary range: USD 168,000 - 303,000 per year.
Responsibilities
- Lead strategy, standards, and maturity for quantitative UX research, experience measurement, and AI enablement across Target’s digital ecosystem
- Oversee programs such as UX metrics, benchmarking, survey research, user panels, and longitudinal tracking
- Establish rigorous and scalable approaches for survey design, sampling, analysis, reporting, and synthesis
- Partner with cross-functional leaders and insight teams to connect research, experimentation, product analytics, and business priorities to roadmaps and outcomes
- Define how Target uses AI agents and synthetic users in research, and establish guidance for responsible use across UX Research and adjacent partner teams
- Advance Target’s research ecosystem so insights are organized, reusable, and ready to support AI-enabled workflows
- Lead, coach, and develop a team of five researchers supporting priority product areas through embedded partnership, quantitative research, and early-stage human-centered design

Requirements
- 10+ years of experience in UX research, quantitative research, applied research, or a related field with a strong understanding of human-centered design and digital product development
- Deep expertise in quantitative methods such as survey design, sampling, measurement, benchmarking, statistical analysis, and longitudinal tracking
- Experience leading enterprise-scale measurement programs and influencing decisions with data
- Strong understanding of how quantitative research connects with qualitative research, experimentation, behavioral data, product analytics, and business performance
- Experience shaping research standards, governance, tooling, repositories, or other scalable research capabilities
- Demonstrated understanding of how AI can responsibly support UX research, including opportunities, risks, governance needs, and implications for quality
- Ability to make research more structured, discoverable, reusable, and AI-ready while maintaining human judgment, context, ethics, and rigor
- Proactively identify and resolve issues that may impair the team from meeting strategic, business, or financial goals
- Strong data-driven visual, verbal, and written storytelling skills with ability to bring partners along
- 5+ years of people leadership experience with demonstrated success hiring, coaching, and developing high-performing, cross-geography or remote teams
- Experience working in large, matrixed organizations a plus
