Engineering Tech - Product Design & Manufacturing Support
Job Description
Responsibilities
- Review customer specifications, drawings, and project requirements to interpret design intent and translate it into manufacturable solutions
- Clarify details with internal teams or customers to ensure accuracy
- Create detailed production drawings using CAD software
- Develop and maintain bills of materials (BOMs) and cut lists
- Ensure all documentation is accurate, complete, and aligned with production capabilities
- Generate CNC programs and machine instructions for production
- Optimize programs for efficiency, material usage, and quality
- Support machine operators with program-related questions or adjustments
- Collaborate with production teams to ensure smooth execution of projects
- Troubleshoot design or manufacturing issues and recommend solutions
- Assist with process improvements and standardization of workflows
- Ensure designs meet quality standards and customer expectations
- Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, reduce waste, and streamline processes
- Maintain organized records of drawings, revisions, and project files
Requirements
- Associate's degree or technical certification in drafting, engineering technology, or a related field preferred
- Experience with CAD software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar
- Experience with CNC programming and manufacturing processes preferred
- Understanding of woodworking, casework, or furniture manufacturing is a plus
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
