Job Description

Work onsite in Chicago and support product re-engineering with hands-on design work, technical data acquisition, and CAD deliverables. You will help teams and customers translate field measurements into usable drawings and models, using modern scanning tools and core Office skills. The role includes domestic and international travel, so you’ll combine facility-based work with on-site data capture and product design/development.

Compensation: USD 85,000 - 126,800 per year. Experience: 2+ years. Education: Bachelor’s Degree.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support to machinist, customers, outside sales, customer service, purchasing, and other ProCast departments.
  • Gather and process data to support re-engineering parts to manufacture through the ProCast business.
  • Collect and manage measurements, sketches, laser scanning outputs, 3D models, 2D machine drawings, BOMs, and routings.
  • Receive gathered and processed information either at the facility’s current location or at a customer’s site.
  • Perform re-engineering data acquisition using a FARO arm and 3D scanner.
  • Create 2D machine drawings and build 3D CAD models using Pro/E or Creo.
  • Support 2D to 3D conversion.
  • Conduct on-site field data acquisition and perform scanning as part of product design and development.
  • Perform product design and development work tied to the re-engineering workflow.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Two to five years’ experience required
  • Basic computer and computational skills in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint are a MUST
  • Work area flexibility and adaptability
  • Good technical writing and communication skills
  • Creative mindset with willingness to improve
  • Physical strength and readiness for extended periods on your feet
  • Ability to lift up to 40 lbs
  • Strong organization and problem solving skills
  • Decision-making and multi-tasking skills
  • Fluent English (written and spoken)
  • Due to high frequent travel internationally and domestically, any additional language other than English is a plus
  • 3D CAD modeling experience with Pro/E or Creo
  • 2D CAD drawing experience
  • Basic knowledge of Pump Operation preferred
  • FARO Arm experience preferred
  • General operations of a scientific calculator
  • Basic trigonometry and algebra
