Product Owner
Job Description
GT Independence brings product planning into action through a structured, cross-functional workflow, with a hybrid role based in High Point, NC. As a Product Owner, you’ll translate the product roadmap into clear requirements within a defined domain, work closely with delivery and stakeholder partners, and help ensure backlog health, quality, and alignment with business and regulatory priorities.
What you’ll do
- Turn approved roadmap initiatives into epics, features, user stories, requirements, and acceptance criteria.
- Lead problem and solution discovery to refine requirements and scope, partnering with the Director of Product and UX Research.
- Coordinate across UX Research, data/analytics, operations, support, and compliance to validate requirements and the intent of solutions.
- Own and maintain the product backlog for your assigned domain, ensuring items are prioritized, refined, and ready for development.
- Partner with the Director of Product and stakeholders to evaluate roadmap candidates, including tradeoffs, business value, urgency, risk, and dependencies.
- Triage incoming requests by clarifying problem statements, scope, impact, and recommended next steps.
- Support backlog refinement and sprint planning, including acceptance review and ongoing requirement clarification for IT Development teams.
- Represent customer, operational, regulatory, and business needs in product decisions and backlog sequencing.
- Track delivery progress, surface risks or blockers, and help align stakeholders when scope, timing, or priority changes.
- Contribute to launch readiness by providing release context, target user impacts, acceptance criteria, and operational implications to Launch & Enablement.
- Use product metrics, feedback, incidents, and adoption signals to recommend backlog adjustments and continuous improvement.
What you’ll bring
- 3+ years of experience as a Product Owner, Business Analyst, Product Manager, or similar role in technology-enabled operations.
- Strong ability to translate roadmap themes into actionable requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
- Proficiency in backlog management and agile delivery, including cross-functional product development.
- Experience assessing business value, operational impact, regulatory considerations, dependencies, and implementation tradeoffs.
- Experience partnering with engineering, operations, compliance, support, and customer-facing stakeholders.
- Strong facilitation and written communication to align stakeholders.
- Comfort working in complex, multi-state or regulated environments (preferred).
- Healthcare insurance program familiarity (for example, Medicaid), business administration, and enterprise platforms such as ERP, claims, payroll, tax, and customer-facing systems (preferred).
- Experience with product/project tools including Jira, Azure DevOps, Aha!, Productboard, or similar platforms.
- Analytical mindset using data, feedback, and outcomes to guide prioritization.
- Customer empathy and systems thinking, connecting detailed requirements to broader product outcomes.
- CSPO certification or PMP (or similar experience) is preferred.

Education: Bachelor’s or better in Business Administration or related field
