Job Description

Delaware North is seeking a full-time Senior Data Product Owner to help lead end-to-end delivery of data products in Buffalo, New York. This onsite role is centered on providing a white-glove experience for data customers while driving data warehousing initiatives from requirements discovery through delivery and adoption.

You will work closely with stakeholders to understand pipeline and product needs, translate those priorities into technical specifications, and coordinate delivery across teams and vendors. The focus will be on data warehousing project execution using modern data tooling and strong product ownership practices.

What you’ll do

  • Own delivery timelines for data warehousing projects using Databricks Lakehouse, Airflow, and Tableau
  • Gather and document pipeline and product requirements through stakeholder interviews and iterative discovery
  • Translate business needs into technical specifications, including schemas, data models, and pipeline requirements
  • Drive pipeline delivery by tracking issues, resolving blockers, escalating risks, and coordinating vendor and stakeholder communication
  • Use SQL and data modeling skills to profile data, support pipeline design, and align available data to business needs
  • Coordinate user acceptance testing, create user documentation, answer questions, and provide training for stakeholders
  • Collaborate cross-functionally, collect user feedback, and refine product features to improve data product quality

What you bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, computer systems engineering, business administration, mathematics, or a similar field
  • Minimum 4 years of experience as a Product Owner or similar role in the data and analytics domain, including demonstrated ability to rapidly orient to new business units and tailor solutions to their requirements
  • Experience delivering data insights by writing SQL
  • Experience with Python or dashboarding tools such as Tableau
  • Adept with data modeling approaches including 3NF, Star Schema, and OBT
  • Experience working with Fact vs a Dimension and Type 2 Slowly Changing Dimension
  • Experience with Agile methodologies and a record of successful product delivery
  • Knowledge of technical specification and use case story documentation, including UML, Domain and Entity-Relationship Modeling, and Business Process Notation
  • Experience working with relational databases and complex data types; machine learning and AI experience is a plus
  • Knowledge of hospitality, food & beverage, gaming, and the sports industry is a plus
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the US without sponsorship

Pay and schedule

  • Salary range: $82,600 to $111,500 per year (base)
  • Additional annual bonus plan based on company and individual performance, or a role-based, uncapped sales incentive plan
  • Shift details: M-F
