Data & Analytics Product Owner - Resource Management Analytics

Huron Consulting Group Inc. is seeking a Data & Analytics Product Owner (Senior Associate) to help agile teams deliver data products that create measurable business value. This onsite role in Chicago, IL supports the product vision for analytics initiatives by connecting business needs to practical data solutions and clear delivery standards. What you’ll do

• Support business leaders in spotting opportunities for data-driven solutions.
• Contribute to roadmap development for data and analytics initiatives.
• Translate business goals into product requirements, features, and user stories.
• Help prioritize backlog items under guidance of a solution manager, coordinating with other product owners, product managers, and stakeholders.
• Participate as Product Owner for agile development teams or specific product features.
• Support backlog refinement, sprint planning, and story elaboration sessions.
• Join daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives, contributing to continuous improvement.
• Provide input on scope and priorities to support team velocity and value delivery.
• Partner with the Scrum Master and RTEs to address team needs.
• Facilitate communication between business stakeholders and development teams, including stakeholder meetings to gather requirements and share updates.
• Help align technical capabilities with business priorities.
• Assist in defining acceptance criteria for deliverables, including data quality rules.
• Support analytics solution delivery across BI products, data science, and AI-integrated data solutions.
• Review data products to confirm they meet quality standards and business requirements.
• Collaborate with data engineers and architects on data modeling and technical design.
• Apply best practices in data visualization, user experience, and analytics.
• Review completed work to ensure alignment with requirements.
• Track product performance metrics and user adoption.
• Contribute to continuous improvement for product features and team processes.

What you bring

• 2-4 years of experience in product ownership, business analysis, or a related role in data or analytics domains.
• Exposure to Agile/Scrum methodologies and delivery practices.
• Basic understanding of data engineering principles, data warehousing, or ETL processes.
• Familiarity with BI and analytics platforms: Databricks, Tableau, Power BI, Looker, or similar.
• Understanding of data modeling or database design concepts.
• Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Ability to learn technical concepts and communicate them to different audiences.
• Experience or willingness to learn user story writing, acceptance criteria, and backlog management.
• CSPO, CSM, or similar agile certification.
• Exposure to cloud data platforms: AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Interest in data visualization design principles.

Compensation and benefits

Salary: USD 100,000 - 155,000 per year.
