Job Description

The Bank of New York Mellon Corporation is seeking a senior product owner to drive data solutions for institutional clients as part of the Data & Analytics organization. Based in Boston, MA (onsite), this role combines leadership of governed investment data with hands-on operational execution, helping move long-standing manual processes toward AI, automation, and low-code to improve transparency, earlier issue detection, and scalable client onboarding.

What you will do

  • Direct the onboarding and ongoing delivery of data solutions for institutional clients, acting as a senior subject-matter expert and ensuring data pipelines, controls, taxonomy, content hydration, and operational processes meet client commitments and service expectations.
  • Collaborate on defining and advancing a unified semantic model and governed taxonomy across multiple investment data sets, aligned to enterprise data standards and built to support scalable, multi-client delivery.
  • Transform manual operations through AI, automation, low-code, and structured analysis, enabling repeatable controls, more transparent processes, and more efficient onboarding and support.
  • Build and lead a scalable team by developing junior resources, delegating business-as-usual product ownership and operational activities, documenting institutional knowledge, and strengthening partnerships across multiple lines of business.
  • Own the operating model and day-to-day execution for data management and data distribution capabilities, working with Product, Data Operations, Engineering, Cloud Operations, Implementation, and Support.

What you bring

  • Significant experience in investment data, asset servicing, or financial-services data operations, with strong knowledge of custody, fund accounting, middle-office operations, data taxonomy, semantic models, data quality, and client data delivery.
  • Demonstrated product and operational leadership, including the ability to define operating models, manage complex cross-functional dependencies, prioritize competing client needs, and turn recurring operational challenges into durable, scalable solutions.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder-management skills, including the ability to surface risks and blockers early, present clear options and recommendations, manage commitments and deadlines, and influence senior partners across business, technology, and operations.
  • Practical experience applying AI, automation, analytics, and programmatic approaches to data-intensive workflows, paired with a strong risk-and-control mindset and the ability to coach, lead, and delegate across teams with varying experience levels.
