Ramp offers a Product Operations role built for people who want meaningful ownership. In this hybrid position across New York, NY (HQ) and San Francisco, CA, you will work on real customer and operational problems end-to-end, from investigation through execution and measurement. The work blends analytical rigor with the willingness to build and validate practical tools, often including AI-assisted solutions. You will also collaborate closely with Product, Engineering, Design, Data, and customer-facing teams.
Location requirement: This role requires comfort working in person at the NYC HQ (near Madison Square Park) at least 2 days per week.
What you’ll own
- Customer and operational outcomes: take responsibility for a defined problem, establish a baseline, and drive the experience forward until it improves.
- Root-cause problem solving: use customer conversations, operational observations, and data to separate recurring causes from isolated symptoms.
- Clear recommendations: apply product sense and business acumen to size opportunities, compare tradeoffs, and help product partners choose where to invest in process change, automation, or product work.
- Workflow building and improvement: create tools and automations that reduce repetitive work and improve reliability, including validating outputs and measuring whether people benefit.
- Operational readiness and adoption: own enablement, feedback collection, and follow-through after a launch or workflow change, with empathy for how teams adopt new ways of working.
- Cross-team execution: define metrics, establish owners, resolve dependencies, communicate decisions, and keep progress moving when paths are unclear.
- Product-based assignment: each Product Operations team member is assigned to a specific product area such as Bill Pay, Procurement, or Travel.
What you bring
- Experience: 2 to 6 years in banking, private equity, consulting, or in product management or business operations roles at a demanding startup. Level and compensation are determined based on experience and qualifications.
- Track record of ownership: a history of delivering outcomes beyond initial analysis or recommendations.
- Quantitative reasoning: comfort working with messy data, checking assumptions, and turning findings into decisions.
- Customer curiosity and judgment: ability to identify which problems matter most and prioritize accordingly, including a willingness to go speak with customers when clarity is needed.
- Communication and trust: strong communication skills and the ability to earn trust for your arguments across technical and business teams.
- Resourcefulness and learning: receptiveness to feedback and evidence of quickly learning unfamiliar subjects.
- AI tool experience: experience using AI tools to build something or improve a workflow, with a thoughtful approach to checking quality.
