This hands-on Mechanical Engineer role focuses on designing, prototyping, testing, and launching electro-mechanical products from concept to production, with a strong emphasis on manufacturability and reliability.
Responsibilities
- Design mechanical components, assemblies, and systems using SolidWorks
- Create 3D CAD models, production drawings, BOMs, and engineering documentation
- Support the full product development lifecycle from concept through production release
- Collaborate with suppliers, manufacturing, sourcing, and operations teams to resolve engineering and production issues
- Build, test, and evaluate prototypes
- Participate in root cause analysis and corrective actions for product failures or field issues
- Support product validation, reliability testing, and design improvements
- Assist with Design for Manufacturing (DFM), Design for Assembly (DFA), and cost reduction initiatives
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams including product management, operations, and quality
- Help manage engineering changes and revision control
- Support continuous product improvement initiatives
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering (BSME) from an accredited U.S. university
- Minimum of 3 years of mechanical engineering and product development experience
- Strong SolidWorks design experience
- Experience designing real-world production products and assemblies
- Understanding of manufacturing processes including sheet metal, plastics, machined parts, welded assemblies, and injection molded components
- Experience creating production drawings and applying GD&T/tolerances
- Strong mechanical problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently while supporting a fast-moving engineering team
- Strong communication and organizational skills
