Vega is hiring a Senior Product Manager in New York to help rebuild insurance claims using AI-enabled leverage. In this role, you will own defined product areas end to end, reporting to the Product Lead and driving measurable outcomes through shipped solutions.
Role Overview
You will operate as a Senior PM, owning meaningful product areas within a broader rebuild effort alongside the Product Lead. The work is hands-on and outcome-focused, partnering directly with adjusters, customers, and engineering teams to deliver changes that improve how claims get handled.
This is not a role centered on supporting a roadmap. You will be accountable for the outcomes of specific product areas that you own outright. The role is based in New York, NY (hybrid), with team members in the office 4 days per week.
Key Responsibilities
- Own defined product areas end to end, covering problem-finding, shipping the solution, and measuring impact.
- Maintain constant collaboration with claims adjusters and customers to ensure product decisions reflect real-world needs.
- Identify where AI creates real leverage within your product area and ensure it is built through iterative work, including prototyping, testing with real users, and validating whether the leverage is genuine.
- Partner closely with Engineering, Sales, and Claims to improve customer outcomes tied to your area.
- Use data to quickly evaluate your own ideas, move toward what works, and discontinue what does not.
- Work with the Product Lead to increase ownership scope over time, supporting progression toward larger, harder problems.
Requirements
- Experience shipping product, ideally in 0-1 or with AI-powered systems, with an understanding of the gap between demos and what real users rely on.
- 3-5+ years in product; comfortable working in the details while still having the option to take broader approaches.
- Relentless curiosity and a habit of asking why until the underlying reality is understood.
- Bias to action.
- Ability to interpret both spreadsheets and stakeholder discussions with equal confidence.
- Preference for a Product Lead who pushes and accelerates improvement rather than taking a hands-off approach.
- Minimum experience: 3 years.
It is even better if you have worked in a 0-1 environment, a fast-scaling startup, or have prior exposure to insurance, claims, or other operations-heavy industries.
