Visiontron Corp seeks a Product Design Engineer to own end-to-end design, development, and engineering support onsite in Holtsville, NY.

Independently develop new products, processes, and quality procedures.
Update existing designs to clarify older documentation such as drawings, BOMs, and QC standards.
Design 3D models and production-ready drawings using SolidWorks.
Create Bill of Materials records for new or existing products in Microsoft Excel.
Investigate product performance issues and prototype new designs with documented experiments and tests.
Update documentation for Engineering Change Orders as required.
Populate product specification spreadsheets for customers using Microsoft Excel.
Conduct time study analyses to support accurate costing and process improvements.

Experience guiding a product from concept through completion.
Interest or experience with diverse materials and processes including aluminum extrusions, plastic injection molded components, metal fabrication such as welding and machining, stamping, rubber molded components, zinc die cast components, and brass die cast components.
Collaborative approach with production staff to align designs with facility capabilities including CNC milling, CNC plasma, routing tables, welding, sheet metal bending, and other fabrication methods.
Willingness to tackle technical tasks across production and design domains.
3 to 7 years of proven success in design or manufacturing roles.
Familiarity with designing parts for castings, extrusions, stamping, machining, welding, and injection molding is preferred.
Knowledge of drawing standards for manufacturability.
Strong computer skills, especially SolidWorks and the Microsoft Office Suite.
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Design, or another technical field.
Ability to balance design for manufacturability with cost, durability, and aesthetics.
Excellent organizational, project management, interpersonal, and analytical skills.
