Product Design Engineer

A & P Technology, Inc. offers an onsite role in Cincinnati, OH for a Product Design Engineer focused on composites. In this position, you’ll work closely with customers to translate technical objectives into braided product solutions, then partner with internal teams to develop and optimize products through design, production, and quality. The work is hands-on, with direct involvement from early troubleshooting to production support, including composite processing guidance.

Responsibilities

• Interface directly with customers to understand technical goals and identify or create braided solutions that meet or exceed expectations
• Collaborate with customers from the design phase through final braided product delivery, providing support for composite processing
• Partner with internal teams including sales, marketing, quality, machine design, and manufacturing to develop and optimize products from initial product design through production, quality, and sales
• Use a hands-on approach to delivery by outlining quality requirements as specified by customers, writing work instructions for production, and identifying key pricing parameters

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience in composite fabrication or design and analysis
• A strong troubleshooting mentality and a hands-on approach to finding solutions
• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Materials, or Composite Engineering
• Experience with composite fabrication and troubleshooting
• Familiarity with Solidworks / Catia or similar CAD software
• Understanding of composite testing methods and how to apply them to software analysis
• Experience using Classical Lamination Theory and predicting basic composite properties
• Ability to read and interpret customer drawings and outline applicable requirements
