Product Owner
Job Description
Evlos Technology is looking for an experienced Product Owner to help advance customer operations while supporting program growth and strategy. In this highly visible, customer-facing role, you will translate operational needs into actionable technical requirements and work across data strategy, data acquisition, DevSecOps alignment, and the adoption of Big Data capabilities for government customers in San Antonio, TX.
You will partner closely with government stakeholders and Evlos technical teams to validate and integrate data-related production capabilities into daily mission operations, while helping ensure delivery plans stay aligned to customer priorities and timelines.
Key responsibilities
- Establish, foster, and strengthen trusted relationships between Evlos and key government customers and mission partners.
- Lead data acquisition development and data strategy efforts supporting cyber operations.
- Work directly with customers to validate and integrate data-related production capabilities into daily mission operations.
- Serve as a Subject Matter Expert for operational Big Data capabilities and support integration into the customer environment.
- Provide technical and operational support to platform users for data needs, requirements, and data ingestion.
- Understand complex DoD network environments and support implementation of new data pipeline solutions from the local level through the enterprise.
- Collect and document customer data requirements, translating them into actionable information for Evlos developers and engineers.
- Establish, maintain, and advance data strategies aligned with customer mission requirements.
- Build strong understanding of Evlos technologies and communicate how capabilities support customer mission needs.
- Provide regular updates to Evlos leadership on program status, customer engagements, risks, opportunities, and adoption of technical capabilities.
- Collaborate with Evlos leadership and technical teams on customer development plans, operational roadmaps, and action plans.
- Identify opportunities to expand Evlos support within existing programs and adjacent mission areas.
- Support the full business development lifecycle, including opportunity identification, qualification, proposal support, staffing, bid/no-bid activities, RFIs, market research responses, and related growth initiatives.
- Maintain current knowledge of customer priorities, programs, acquisition strategies, budgets, and broader market intelligence.
- Develop and maintain relationships with potential solution partners and technology providers.
- Collaborate with Evlos engineering, growth, recruiting, and leadership teams to support customer and program objectives.
- Own the customer experience from requirements identification through capability delivery and adoption.
- Work with development and engineering teams to ensure DevSecOps pipeline delivery schedules align with customer priorities and timelines.
- Act as a primary customer-facing advocate for new data capabilities, ensuring stakeholders understand upcoming updates, features, dependencies, and implementation requirements.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Active TS/SCI U.S. Government security clearance required.
- U.S. citizenship required.
- 9+ years of relevant experience in DoD cyber operations, Agile development, Big Data, or related mission areas with a Bachelor’s degree in Business, a technical discipline, or related field; OR 7+ years of relevant experience with a Master’s degree in a related field; OR High School Diploma or equivalent with 13+ years of relevant experience.
- Previous government or military experience supporting DoD cyber, intelligence, data, or related mission environments.
- Experience directly managing complex technical projects and/or programs.
- Understanding of DoD budgeting and acquisition processes and/or experience working with acquisition organizations.
- Experience working directly with government customers and translating operational requirements into actionable technical objectives.
- Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills across technical teams, government leadership, and mission stakeholders.
- Strong presentation and public-speaking skills.
- Excellent interviewing, requirements-gathering, active-listening, and communication skills.
- Ability to participate in the full business development lifecycle, including proposal support, staffing, opportunity identification, bid/no-bid analysis, RFIs, and market responses.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong proficiency with Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft PowerPoint.
- Must obtain Security+ certification within 60 days of hire.
- Ability and willingness to travel up to 25%, sometimes on short notice, including CONUS and OCONUS travel as required.
- Ability to work on the customer site in San Antonio, TX approximately 2–3 days per week, with flexibility to accommodate changes in customer and mission schedules.

Preferred qualifications
- Experience with Software Engineering, Cloud Technologies, Data Engineering, and/or Cybersecurity.
- Technical background sufficient to understand system requirements and collaborate on solution design and estimating.
- Experience moving and managing data at scale, particularly using Amazon S3.
- Previous experience with or familiarity with Big Data Platforms or Data Lake architectures.
