Job Description

Charles Schwab’s Workplace Services supports retirement, stock plans, and designated brokerage services for corporations and their employees. Within that ecosystem, the SPS Digital Product Management team is seeking a Senior Data Platform Product Owner to coordinate and deliver data integration business and technology transformations, with a focus on modernizing the Stock Plan Services legacy batch integration application.

This role combines agile product ownership with technical roadmap and backlog leadership, helping align SPS stakeholder needs to an evolving data exchange integration platform while driving new and enhanced stock plan data integration capabilities for internal and external consumption clients.

What you’ll do

  • Collaborate with product owners, system analysts, developers, and business stakeholders in an agile environment to manage the welfare of the SPS legacy batch applications across the product and release lifecycle.
  • Analyze, define strategy, and manage implementation of enhancements to existing and new capabilities within the legacy batch integration product.
  • Lead and collaborate with SPS stakeholders to create the team’s roadmap and align it with the future architecture data exchange integration platform currently being developed.
  • Apply knowledge of equity plan administration workflows and client data integration needs to strengthen Schwab’s positioning in the Equity Compensation marketplace.
  • Design experiments and evaluations to assess whether product solutions are valuable, usable, feasible, and viable, while incorporating stakeholder and industry perspectives to refine the product vision.
  • Own and drive product manager responsibilities for new and enhanced stock plan data integration capabilities, including definition, creation, development, and implementation of solutions for internal and external data consumption.

Qualifications

  • Technical product leadership experience overlapping with a Technical Product Manager role, including directing and coordinating technical teams across Java, SSIS, .NET, Shell, and Perl.
  • Experience translating product outcomes and business requirements into clear technical priorities, with understanding of dependencies and tradeoffs across legacy and modern technology stacks.
  • Partnership with engineering leads on solution design and modernization sequencing, and driving delivery across development and test.
  • Ability to create and maintain team roadmap(s), backlog(s), development queue(s), and deployments related to data integration modernization, plus ongoing maintenance and support of the legacy data integration application ecosystem (including MLO).
  • Strong product management skills to synthesize data and stakeholder feedback into actionable insights.
  • 5+ years product management experience, and 15+ months supporting equity plan administration and related operations.
  • Advanced business analysis, multi-tasking, troubleshooting ability, and high attention to detail from concept through implementation.
  • Ability to deliver project deliverables on time and work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Agile/Scrum experience required in a Product Owner/Manager role, including the ability to engage and align Business, Technology, Production Support, Architecture, and QS resources when setting priorities for a PI or PI sprint.
  • Ability to own oversight related to completion of development and testing activities for each assigned user story or product increment.
  • BA/BS degree or equivalent experience.

Compensation and location

  • Location: Westlake, TX (onsite)
  • Salary: USD 130,000 - 170,000 per year

  • Schwab supports in-office collaboration and intends for the selected candidate to work on site 4 days per week in one of the specified locations.
