Senior Product Manager - Synthetic Data

At General Motors, you will help strengthen trust in synthetic data that powers next-generation autonomy. This hybrid role supports teams across simulation, ML infrastructure, and autonomy development as you define product direction, scale production, and build measurable quality frameworks backed by KPIs.

What you’ll do

• Own the long-term product vision and set the strategic direction for increasing trust in GM’s Synthetic Data across the organization.
• Drive scale for synthetic data production, focusing on both quality and volume, with the goal of establishing Synthetic Data as a first-class data source in the training workflow.
• Lead cross-functional efforts across simulation, ML orchestration or infrastructure, and autonomy development to move strategy into execution.
• Translate complex technical concepts into an easy-to-understand narrative for stakeholders across GM.
• Build and monitor a data-driven culture by establishing and tracking key metrics, including quality frameworks and “is this good enough?” criteria.
• Define and track KPIs that connect synthetic data to model performance and downstream program outcomes.

What you bring

• 5+ years of product management experience
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related fields
• Strong understanding of the latest Simulation platforms, ML orchestration infrastructure, and validation workflows
• Ability to navigate ambiguity and move projects forward even when the path is unclear
• Strong sense of accountability and ownership
• Proven ability to balance tradeoffs between user needs and expectations, technical requirements and constraints, and business objectives
• Demonstrated expertise in writing, with the ability to integrate vision, strategy, and technical details into a cohesive narrative

Preferred qualifications

• An MBA or a master’s degree in a technical or engineering discipline
• Experience working on Autonomous Vehicles, ML infrastructure, or large-scale simulation/testing
• Exposure to synthetic data generation, simulation, or domain adaptation for perception or behavior models
• A track record building trust with staff or principal engineers through transparent roadmaps and honest communication

Hybrid work location

This role is categorized as hybrid and requires reporting to the Warren, MI or Sunnyvale, CA office three times per week, at minimum.

Compensation and incentive

Salary range: $106,600 to $192,700 per year. Compensation information is a good faith estimate only.

Incentive pay: An incentive pay program provides payouts based on company performance, job level, and individual performance.
