Job Description

Lead UX research that turns user and product signals into product strategy and design direction in the AI era.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with stakeholders to identify knowledge gaps, latent assumptions, and open questions to prioritize the highest-impact research opportunities.
  • Plan, conduct, and analyze studies using a mix of qualitative and quantitative methods, including tactical usability testing, in-depth interviews, in-product surveys, and other approaches.
  • Maintain a balance of speed and research rigor, adapting methods to work within project constraints.
  • Triangulate insights across user research, product usage, support interactions, and market signals to uncover meaningful patterns.
  • Turn complex findings into clear, compelling stories for teams across the organization, including product, design, engineering peers, and executive stakeholders.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in UX research, product research, or a related field, ideally within Enterprise SaaS or technical platform environments.
  • Proven ability to own research projects end-to-end, from scoping through execution and analysis, using both qualitative and quantitative methods.
  • Strong synthesis and storytelling skills, with the ability to convert ambiguity into actionable clarity for different audiences.
  • Experience shaping product direction through early-stage generative research and iterative usability testing.
  • Comfort working in ambiguous problem spaces with a bias toward action; strategic thinking paired with hands-on execution.
  • Deep curiosity about how complex systems work, especially technical workflows and developer tools.
  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills, including experience bringing others into the process and aligning teams around user insights.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, appropriately scope projects, and deliver high-quality work on time.

Benefits

  • Comprehensive benefit plan, including medical, dental, vision, and 401(k).

Nice-to-Haves

  • Bachelor’s or advanced degree in Human-Computer Interaction, Psychology, Human Factors, Computer Science, or a similar field.
  • Experience working on AI products, including an understanding of how they work and implications for user interaction.
  • Familiarity with design thinking frameworks, usability evaluation techniques, and A/B testing.
  • Interest in leading and growing a small UXR team.

Location & Compensation

  • Location: San Francisco, CA (hybrid)
  • Salary: USD 194,000 - 260,000 per year (base pay range)
  • For U.S. candidates: the range may include multiple career levels and will be narrowed during interviews based on scope, responsibilities, experience/qualifications, and location.
  • Additional compensation (equity and/or commission) depends on the position offered.
  • Pay and benefits are subject to change.
