Associate Product Owner

Hansen Technologies seeks an Associate Product Owner in Columbia, SC (onsite) to manage business-facing product backlog activities and support R&D investment initiatives for the Hansen Customer Information System (CIS). In this role, you will partner with Agile Scrum teams to convert market and customer needs into high-quality enterprise software delivery.

Responsibilities

• Own the business-facing elements of the development lifecycle for Hansen CIS R&D projects, maintaining alignment with the broader product strategy.
• Collect, synthesize, and refine complex business needs into clear requirements and actionable solution designs.
• Maintain full responsibility for the product backlog, including writing detailed user stories with precise acceptance criteria and running regular backlog grooming sessions.
• Collaborate closely on a daily basis with cross-functional Agile Scrum team members, including developers, QA, and Scrum Masters, to clarify requirements, remove roadblocks, and support successful sprint outcomes.
• Serve as the primary liaison between business stakeholders and technical teams, managing expectations and ensuring delivered outcomes meet defined business objectives.
• Participate in sprint reviews and perform accept/reject decisions for completed user stories to help ensure quality standards prior to release.

Requirements

• Proven experience in a Product Owner, Business Analyst, or closely related role within an enterprise software environment.
• Strong working knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and Agile/Scrum methodologies.
• Demonstrated capability to write clear user stories, define requirements, and conceptualize solution designs.
• Analytical and problem-solving strengths with a focus on delivering customer value.
• Effective communication and collaboration skills, including the ability to connect technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Familiarity with Customer Information Systems (CIS) or experience in the utility or telecom billing sector is a strong plus.
