Consulting Manager, Product Owner - Healthcare Payer

Cognizant is seeking a Consulting Manager / Product Owner to support healthcare payer claims workflows in an onsite role in Teaneck, NJ. This position bridges business needs and technical delivery, with hands-on ownership of requirements, solution testing/validation, and ongoing improvements across the claims process.

What you’ll do

• Help develop and/or modify requirements and business design specifications, including user training materials and documentation
• Test solutions and document results to support delivery and traceability
• Act as a liaison between software users and technical staff to keep stakeholders aligned
• Assess current processes, reports, and procedures, then use the findings to support improvements
• Collect data and perform quantitative analysis to substantiate assumptions
• Complete ad hoc reporting as needed
• Measure outcomes of quality improvements using metrics and benchmarking criteria
• Support configuration changes needed for claim hold
• Generate or gather test data required for validation
• Perform validation activities in test and production environments according to business requirements
• Bring strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities to the engagement
• Use written and verbal communication skills to interact effectively with both business and technical stakeholders
• Collaborate across cross-functional teams throughout delivery

Skills and experience needed

• Minimum 3+ years of experience
• Preferred experience in claims, provider, and pricing services
• Preferred Safe Agile certifications, or 3+ years as a Product Owner
• Preferred experience with Fusion and/or Streamline
• Experience with QTest and JIRA
• Experience with mainframe and PEGA systems
• Experience supporting comparable projects or organizations

Collaboration, qualification, and continuity expectations

The vendor will provide personnel with the knowledge, skills, and experience necessary to perform the services described. The vendor is responsible for ensuring assigned resources meet the agreed-upon qualifications. The customer may review proposed qualifications and request replacement of personnel who do not meet skill requirements or performance expectations.

Ongoing documentation and knowledge transfer practices are required to support continuity and minimize disruption from personnel changes. Replacement resources must have qualifications substantially equivalent to those of the individual being replaced.

The vendor is also responsible for maintaining professional competency of assigned personnel during the engagement, ensuring resources remain current with relevant technologies, industry practices, and applicable regulatory requirements for the services provided.
