Job Description

Director, Derivatives and Liquid Alternative Investments Product Manager role at Fidelity Investments in Westlake, TX (onsite), offering USD 110,000 to 222,000 per year.

Responsibilities

  • Spearhead product strategy and deliver robust derivatives and collateral solutions within Fidelity Fund and Investment Operations (FFIO).
  • Drive new investment capabilities, enhance operational efficiency, and reduce risk across FFIO.
  • Define and refine the derivatives and collateral capabilities roadmap, aligned to FFIO and enterprise priorities to maximize business value.
  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement through market insights, regulatory developments, and partner needs.
  • Translate strategic direction into a prioritized backlog with clear requirements, acceptance criteria, and measurable business value.
  • Collaborate with engineering and architecture to deliver scalable, resilient processing solutions for derivatives and collateral management.
  • Support product implementations, including operational readiness and rollout planning.
  • Represent the voice of the customer and business to ensure technology solutions meet operational and partner needs.
  • Make informed trade-off decisions balancing partner demands, cost, and time to market.
  • Measure product performance using established metrics aligned with product, business, and technology goals.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Finance or Accounting; 6-8 years in derivative or liquid alternatives middle/back office operations.
  • Advanced knowledge of the alternative fund industry or hedge fund products.
  • In-depth understanding of derivative instruments, including Cleared and OTC Swaps, Options, and Futures.
  • Experience establishing and refining product strategy and roadmap for derivatives and collateral capabilities aligned to FFIO and enterprise priorities.
  • Ability to identify opportunities for continuous improvement through market insights, regulatory developments, and partner needs.
  • Proven skill in translating strategy into a refined backlog with clear requirements, acceptance criteria, and business value.
  • Experience partnering with engineering and architecture to deliver scalable, resilient derivatives and collateral processing solutions.
  • Experience supporting product implementations, including operational readiness and rollout planning.
  • Strong advocacy for the customer and business to ensure technology solutions meet operational needs.
  • Proven capability to make trade-off decisions balancing partner needs, cost, and time-to-market.
  • Experience measuring product performance with metrics aligned to product, business, and technology goals.

  • FFIO Derivatives and Collateral product area supports Fidelity's asset management business with cross-functional collaboration across investment operations, risk, compliance, technology, and asset management teams.
  • The Derivatives and Collateral group enables Fidelity’s asset management by delivering solutions for complex financial instruments and processing needs.
  • The Liquid Alternatives team ensures FFIO systems support the full range of Fidelity funds instruments.

Onsite working model

Fidelity is implementing a phased transition to a full-time onsite model across regions and roles. Some roles and locations require 100% onsite presence, others require less, and onsite expectations may evolve as the rollout progresses. This model does not apply to fully remote roles.
