Product Design Engineer
Job Description
The Product Design Engineer supports the design and development of new products across automotive, commercial vehicle, industrial, rail, transit, data, and military markets. This onsite role in Colchester, VT focuses on engineering documentation, cost and pricing support, and responsible sourcing of materials while maintaining environmental compliance.
Location and Employment Details
Colchester, VT (onsite). This is a full-time position with office hours from Monday through Friday. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required based on business needs.
Work setting: in person. Travel: some travel is expected, including domestic and international travel.
Compensation
Salary: USD 60,000 - 70,000 per year.
Summary
The Product Design Engineer assists in growing and developing new products by producing product drawings, supporting product cost and pricing documentation, preparing quotations, and specifying and procuring raw materials for new product introductions. The role includes adherence to environmental management requirements and facility environmental policies.
Core Responsibilities
- Create product drawings.
- Prepare product cost documentation.
- Develop price sheets.
- Prepare engineered quotations.
- Specify and procure raw materials for new products.
- Perform additional duties as needed by the supervisor.
- Conduct work in a compliant and environmentally safe manner.
- Follow all facility environmental policies and procedures.
- Participate in continual improvement efforts aimed at reducing environmental impacts.
- Report all environmental incidents or concerns to the EHS manager.
Required Qualifications
- Polished written and verbal communication skills, with strong presentation skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft applications.
- Solid technical aptitude with strong research and analytic skills.
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize, with strong time management skills.
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally.
- B.S. in Engineering or Science, or at least 5 years of experience in applicable field/duties.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD.
