Product Manager (Engineering Leader 2)

M.C. Dean’s Security and Electronic Systems (SES) business unit is seeking a Product Manager to lead the delivery and management of customer software across the Software Development Life Cycle. This role centers on turning customer needs into well-defined product requirements, executing through release operations, and tracking performance through KPIs, while partnering closely with engineering and stakeholders.

Based in Tysons, VA, this onsite position supports end-to-end product leadership, from requirements and roadmap planning through user testing (UAT) and operational readiness. The role also includes leading product demos and training to enable internal and external stakeholders.

What you’ll do

• Own the end-to-end product lifecycle, moving from concept through implementation.
• Capture, document, and share customer needs, translating requirements into features and user stories and aligning the technical team to those requirements.
• Define and prioritize product roadmaps to meet the needs of internal and external stakeholders across the organization and customer base.
• Work with engineering teams to shape product requirements and support timely delivery.
• Manage the product backlog, prioritize features, and work with technical and project stakeholders to make trade-off decisions.
• Lead day-to-day software operations, coordinating work assignments, balancing resources, and removing blockers to support consistent release targets.
• Create and maintain system documentation, including design and configuration plans, design diagrams, task procedures, and operations and maintenance plans.
• Plan and conduct user testing (UAT).
• Set KPIs, identify gaps, and improve product performance and adoption.
• Lead product demos, training sessions, and related activities for stakeholder enablement.

Minimum qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related Technical Discipline.
• 10+ years of progressive experience in product management and software delivery.
• U.S. Citizenship and the ability to obtain a TS/SCI clearance due to subjecting applicants selected to a government security investigation (access to classified information is required).
• SAFe Scrum Master, SAFe for Teams, SAFe Product Owner/Product Manager, or a similar agile project management certification.
• Proven experience launching and managing complex software products.

Systems and technical experience

• Working understanding of application lifecycle management systems such as Atlassian Jira (and related components), Azure DevOps, GitLab to manage, monitor, and report on software project status and performance.
• Hands-on experience with MS Azure and cloud services, including compute, database, storage, network virtualization, and security services.
• Working knowledge of network infrastructure and concepts of operation, including protocols such as TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, SNMP, and Syslog.
• Demonstrated time management and organization in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary team environment.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with strong oral and written communication.
• Proficiency with workflow and lifecycle management systems (for example, Atlassian Jira).

USD 150,080 - 187,600 per year
