Product Operations Manager, Tooling & Automation

New York, NY $94k - $160k/yr Full time Posted 9h ago

Job Description

Build the automation backbone behind how DoubleVerify’s Product organization plans and executes. This onsite role in New York, NY focuses on workflow automation, integrations, monitoring and health checks, data quality enforcement, and AI-enabled process enforcement. You will help the Product team move from strategy to delivery with reliable systems and clear operational guardrails.

You’ll join Product Operations, a team dedicated to connecting planning, process design, and program management at scale. They already support a tool ecosystem that powers quarterly planning, OKR tracking, portfolio visibility, and product development workflows across the organization, including Jira Product Discovery (JPD), Confluence, n8n integrations, and an emerging set of AI-enabled automation. As these systems grow in complexity, this role provides the dedicated technical ownership they require.

What you’ll do

  • Build, maintain, and improve automation workflows across Jira Product Discovery, Confluence, and connected systems, keeping them reliable and consistent as usage grows.
  • Take existing prototype automations and emerging AI agent capabilities into production with testing, error handling, and governance, plus monitored and self-healing behavior.
  • Create real-time integrations and data pipelines that connect portfolio planning (OKRs and Programs) to execution (Projects, Team Deliverables, and Jira tickets) for leadership visibility.
  • Implement automated health checks, dependency monitoring, and status rollups that reduce manual overhead during quarterly planning cycles.
  • Develop reusable automation templates and self-service patterns so PMs and cross-functional partners can run common workflows without depending on Product Ops.
  • Enforce data quality automatically to block incomplete or incorrect inputs into planning systems, including missing PRDs, undefined target dates, and orphaned deliverables.
  • Set up automated notifications and communications for quarterly milestones, OKR session prep, dependency deadlines, and reporting.
  • Support AI-enabled process enforcement, including agents that review project artifacts for completeness and alignment with PDLC standards.
  • Partner with IT, Engineering, and DevOps to coordinate automation efforts, avoid redundant work, and maintain consistency in how operational tooling is built and supported.
  • Document automation workflows, system architecture, and operational runbooks to support long-term maintainability and knowledge transfer.

What you bring

  • 3–5 years of experience in product operations, technical program management, operations engineering, or a related role, with strong emphasis on tooling and automation.
  • Hands-on proficiency with workflow automation platforms such as Jira Automation, n8n, Zapier, or similar, including experience building production-grade integrations.
  • Working knowledge of API-driven development, including RESTful APIs, webhooks, and data transformation.
  • Experience with Jira, Confluence, and the Atlassian ecosystem, with familiarity with Jira Product Discovery as a strong plus.
  • Comfort working with AI and LLM-based tooling (for example, prompt engineering and agent orchestration) or a demonstrated willingness to develop this capability quickly.
  • Strong understanding of data quality principles, monitoring patterns, and automated testing.
  • Attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple workstreams independently once direction is set.
  • Clear written and verbal communication, including documenting technical systems for non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to operate in ambiguous, cross-functional environments with a proactive, solutions-oriented mindset.
  • Evidence of taking ownership of a technical domain over time, including governance practices and communicating system context to non-technical partners.

Bonus round: preferred strengths

  • Experience in Ad Tech, SaaS, or high-growth technology companies.
  • Familiarity with PDLC frameworks and OKR methodologies.
  • Experience with data pipeline or ETL tools, scripting languages such as Python or JavaScript, or low-code/no-code platforms.
  • Knowledge of DevOps practices including CI/CD, version control, and infrastructure-as-code concepts.
  • Experience building or scaling internal tooling for operations teams.
