Product Owner
Job Description
The Product Owner role at Clarivate focuses on acquiring and prioritizing business requirements while improving a data warehouse platform and its underlying data architecture. The position also supports AWS-based data integrations, ETL development with Talend, and ongoing production issue resolution.
Responsibilities
- Acquire and interpret business requirements by partnering with business stakeholders to understand pain points, prioritize needs, and identify opportunities to improve processes and gain efficiency.
- Enhance the current data warehouse platform and data architecture to convert data environments into a business asset that supports evolving data science and analytics requirements, using appropriate technologies.
- Work closely with peer architects and Information Management design teams, along with business stakeholders, to align delivery with technical and business goals.
- Build and deliver AWS-based integrations, including Redshift, S3, Data Pipeline, and Glue, ensuring solutions are implemented accurately as planned.
- Conduct technical analysis and support ETL design, development, testing, and deployment for IT solutions as required by business or IT needs.
- Create detailed Technical Design Documents (TDD) that specify data flow from sources to targets.
- Develop complex ETL jobs using Talend ETL tooling, loading data from multiple sources such as databases and other files into target databases.
- Handle enhancement requests for existing Talend jobs.
- Troubleshoot and resolve production issues according to priority and participate in on-call support based on project and business needs.
- Perform the role without formal hire or fire authority.
Requirements
- Master’s degree in Business Administration, Product Management, Computer Science, or a related field, plus a minimum of four years of related experience.
- Alternatively, Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Product Management, Computer Science, or a related field, plus a minimum of six years of related experience.
- Four years of experience as a Business Analyst, Product Manager, Project Manager, or Software Engineer.
- 3 years of experience defining and communicating product vision, strategy, and roadmap; collaborating with cross-functional teams including engineering, design, and stakeholders to drive product decisions; and managing product requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria across the development lifecycle.
- 2 years of experience in data-driven product decisions and analytics; agile and scrum methodologies; backlog prioritization and management; and stakeholder management and communication to align business objectives with technical capabilities.
- Experience using product management tools and platforms.
- Experience working with internal and external stakeholders to meet project goals and timelines.
- 100% telecommuting permitted within the US.
- Travel may be required to additional unanticipated worksites throughout the U.S. up to 5% of the time.
