Product Owner
Job Description
Georgia Tech offers a role centered on delivering customer-focused product outcomes through an agile approach. As the primary point of contact for a specific innovation initiative, you will shape and manage a detailed product backlog, collaborate with IT leadership and business units, and help ensure implemented work achieves intended business value. This onsite position is based in Atlanta, GA with an emphasis on stakeholder alignment, clear product storytelling, and continuous product improvement.
Compensation: USD 93,708 - 117,637 per year, depending on experience and preferred skills.
Responsibilities
- Translate high-level business requirements from customers into technical user stories.
- Lead stakeholder meetings to identify opportunities and define product priorities.
- Make the final acceptance decision on all implemented user stories by confirming whether intended business value has been achieved.
- Continuously groom the development backlog through recurring iterations of user story development and prioritization.
- Prioritize backlog items based on product strategy, business value, implementation cost, and resource availability.
- Review and demonstrate product functionality with customers and internal stakeholders.
- Evaluate development team results and identify opportunities to improve products and features.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Business, Marketing, or related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Five to seven years of job related experience.
- Strong experience writing formal business or functional requirements and user stories, creating mock-ups, and applying customer and user intuition.
- Proven ability to manage multiple assignments, align work to business priorities and deadlines, and work effectively in an agile development environment.
- Effective and persuasive communication, including leading meetings and making presentations.
- Problem solving with a positive attitude, with the ability to take end-to-end ownership of feature releases.
- Flexibility for overnight travel required for project delivery, and the ability to support on-site daily service delivery hours based on client shift schedules and project requirements.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment and across cross-functional teams toward shared success.
Technologies and Preferred Qualifications
This role involves experience with ServiceNow, IT Service Management (ITSM), ITIL, and agile.
- Master's Degree preferred.
- Experience serving as a Product Owner, Product Manager, or Platform Owner for an enterprise ServiceNow platform.
- Demonstrated ability to balance business demand, platform governance, security requirements, technical debt, and long-term platform sustainability.
- Strong knowledge of ServiceNow platform capabilities and governance, including platform standards, release management, upgrades, testing, and adoption strategies.
- Ability to lead stakeholder workshops, solution reviews, and product demonstrations, translating complex concepts into clear business value and aligning technical and non-technical audiences.
- Knowledge of ITSM and ITIL practices and how they apply within the ServiceNow platform.
- Experience supporting enterprise-scale ServiceNow implementations, enhancements, or platform modernization initiatives.
- Certifications preferred: ServiceNow Certified System Administrator (CSA), ITIL Foundation, and/or Product Owner.
