Responsibilities
- Collaborate with stakeholders across upstream and downstream systems to understand business priorities and how legacy apps and workflows support them
- Lead strategic stakeholder engagement for assigned areas with deep knowledge of business processes and system constraints
- Apply agile best practices to sustain and improve legacy systems while balancing stability with incremental updates
- Make backlog and release planning decisions for the assigned product area
- Document stories and epics that capture business needs clearly
- Maintain and refine product backlogs, prioritize user stories, and define scope, objectives, deliverables, and requirements
- Partner with architects to translate business strategies into practical solutions within existing system limitations and identify opportunities for efficiency
- Drive delivery of scalable solutions aligned with IT roadmaps and portfolio budgets
- Coordinate with Operations to ensure legacy systems continue to support functions without disruption
- Support UAT, regression testing, and training for updates or transitions involving legacy systems
- Contribute to technology and process transformation initiatives for the US and Bermuda
- Measure product performance and value delivery using KPIs tied to business outcomes
- Ensure prioritization aligns with the IT investment roadmap and budget goals
- Collaborate with Product Managers, Architects, and Enterprise teams to preserve conceptual and technical integrity across the portfolio
- Champion customer-centric outcomes by prioritizing features that enhance experience and operational efficiency
- Ensure product changes comply with regulatory and compliance standards
- Stay informed about emerging technologies and industry best practices to guide strategy

Requirements
- 5+ years of insurance experience is a plus
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience is required
- Proven experience as a Product Owner or similar role in technology or operations
- Ability to manage multiple and multi-faceted stakeholders
- Solution oriented, creative thinker
- Strong understanding of Agile methodologies and product management practices
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Proficiency in Jira and Confluence for backlog management and documentation
- Ability to translate strategic goals into actionable business requirements

Pay information
The Sr. Product Owner base range is USD 116,080 - 159,610 per year with a 25 percent incentive, reflecting compensable factors such as education, experience, and location.
