Senior Guidewire Product Owner

Delan Associates, Inc is hiring a Senior Guidewire Product Owner to lead product vision and execution for Guidewire-based P and C insurance platforms in a hybrid Omaha, NE setup. This role blends deep Guidewire platform experience with P and C insurance domain knowledge, with a particular focus on Commercial Auto capabilities and processes.

In this position, you will translate business needs into technology requirements, align stakeholders around priorities, and guide delivery teams through the Agile lifecycle. You will also contribute to process improvement and ensure product solutions reflect business strategy and enterprise expectations, including security and compliance requirements.

What you’ll own

• Own and communicate the product vision, roadmap, priorities, and backlog.
• Partner with business stakeholders to capture business needs and translate them into product requirements and user stories.
• Act as the liaison between business stakeholders and Guidewire technology and delivery teams.
• Prioritize the product backlog using business value, customer needs, regulatory requirements, dependencies, and delivery timelines.
• Define epics, features, user stories, acceptance criteria, and business requirements.
• Work with Guidewire architects, developers, business analysts, QA, and implementation teams to support successful delivery.
• Provide product direction for Commercial Auto-related capabilities and processes.
• Lead backlog refinement, sprint planning, demos, and other Agile ceremonies.
• Provide clarification and timely decisions to delivery teams across the development lifecycle.
• Coordinate UAT, business validation, release readiness, and production implementation.
• Manage stakeholder expectations by communicating product status, risks, dependencies, and decisions.
• Identify opportunities for process improvement, automation, and enhanced customer experience.
• Ensure solutions align with business strategy, enterprise architecture, security, compliance, and operational requirements.
• Collaborate with distributed teams and participate in onsite meetings in Omaha as required.

Experience and requirements

• 8+ years of experience in product management, product ownership, business analysis, or technology delivery.
• 3+ years working as a Product Owner/Product Manager in an Agile environment.
• Strong P and C Insurance domain experience.
• Hands-on experience with Guidewire platforms, preferably PolicyCenter, BillingCenter, or ClaimCenter.
• Strong understanding of Guidewire implementation, configuration, integrations, and insurance business processes.
• Experience creating and managing product backlogs, epics, features, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
• Strong skills in stakeholder management, communication, facilitation, and decision-making.
• Experience working with distributed business and technology teams.
• Experience with Jira, Confluence, Azure DevOps, or similar Agile tools.
• Ability and willingness to travel to Omaha at least one week per month for remote positions.

• Omaha, Nebraska is particularly preferred for candidates who can work onsite and collaborate directly with business stakeholders.
• Remote candidates will be considered when a suitable Omaha-based candidate is not available.
• Remote candidates must have strong Guidewire and P and C insurance experience, and Commercial Auto experience is strongly preferred.
• Remote candidates must be willing to travel to Omaha at least one week per month, with additional onsite travel possible for key workshops, planning sessions, UAT, releases, or other critical business events.

Preferred qualifications

• Commercial Auto insurance experience.
• Guidewire experience combined with Commercial Auto domain experience.
• Guidewire certification or relevant Guidewire implementation experience.
• Experience with Guidewire Cloud / Cloud Platform.
• Experience with Commercial Lines, particularly Commercial Auto.
• Experience with other P and C insurance products such as Property, Workers' Compensation, General Liability, Umbrella, or BOP.
• Experience with Guidewire integrations and the surrounding insurance technology ecosystem.
• Prior experience supporting large-scale insurance transformation or modernization programs.
• PMP, CSPO, PSPO, SAFe, or Scrum certification.
• Experience working directly with insurance carriers and business stakeholders.
