Courier Health is transforming how healthcare partners connect to its ecosystem, shifting from one-off integrations to a scalable API and integration platform. This hybrid role in New York, NY partners closely with Product, Engineering, Implementation, and Sales to turn technical foundations into measurable platform progress, developer-ready interfaces, and reliable data flows.
At USD 190,000 - 240,000 per year, you will own the strategy and execution that make integrations repeatable, secure, observable, and easier to operate. Your work will cut time-to-live by turning past delivery patterns into shared models, connectors, and platform primitives.
What you’ll do
- Lead the shift from bespoke integrations to a scalable product platform that supports customers and partners with consistent capabilities.
- Define Courier’s API and integration strategy, including where the platform standardizes versus how it configures variation across hubs, specialty pharmacies, claims sources, CRMs, and other partner systems.
- Establish the product and data abstractions that make new sources repeatable, including reusable connectors and shared data models that prevent each new customer from becoming a new architecture.
- Own the public API and webhook layer, including what is exposed, how developers build against it, and how contracts evolve over time.
- Make security and quality core product requirements, covering authentication and scoped access, auditability, versioning discipline, and contract testing.
- Set priorities for when Courier should build connectors, when partners should build them, and when third-party infrastructure is the right choice.
- Build the ecosystem operating model through tooling, documentation, certification, and a pathway for partner marketplace growth.
- Own ingestion monitoring, reconciliation, clear failure states, and self-service remediation so issues can be handled without requiring an engineer.
- Define “healthy” for data feeds and ensure it is visible to the teams running the program.
- Translate company strategy, customer needs, technical foundations, and commercial priorities into a clear investment sequence, while explicitly distinguishing reusable platform needs from one-off requests.
- Align Product, Engineering, Implementation, and Sales by making tradeoffs explicit and driving shared decisions through roadmap reviews.
What you bring
- Experience building and scaling APIs, integrations, data products, or developer platforms for enterprise customers.
- Proven ability to turn bespoke customer work into reusable products that improved launch speed, reliability, adoption, or cost to serve.
- Strong technical judgment across data models, API design, integration patterns, observability, and failure recovery.
- Not required to code, but you partner effectively with engineers as a rigorous technical counterpart.
- Security, privacy, and data quality treated as design requirements from day one, particularly with sensitive health data crossing organizational boundaries.
- Comfort proactively building relationships, including recruiting partners or working with a vendor integration team during roadmap reviews.
- Ability to make sharp product decisions balancing customer needs, commercial value, technical foundations, and long-term platform leverage.
- Clear communication across engineering, client IT, commercial teams, and executives, especially when tradeoffs are difficult.
- Ability to thrive with autonomy and ambiguity, building context quickly and delivering against measurable outcomes.
