Overview
We are seeking a practical Mechanical Engineer with strong product development experience to support new product design, engineering, prototyping, testing, and manufacturing launch activities. This role reports directly to the Vice President of Product Design & Development and collaborates closely with operations, manufacturing, sourcing, and leadership teams. It is an on-site opportunity in San Diego.
Responsibilities
- Design mechanical components, assemblies, and systems using SolidWorks
- Create 3D CAD models, production drawings, BOMs, and engineering documentation
- Support the full product development lifecycle from concept through production release
- Collaborate with suppliers, manufacturing, sourcing, and operations teams to resolve engineering and production issues
- Build, test, and evaluate prototypes
- Participate in root cause analysis and corrective actions for product failures or field issues
- Support product validation, reliability testing, and design improvements
- Assist with Design for Manufacturing (DFM), Design for Assembly (DFA), and cost reduction initiatives
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams including product management, operations, and quality
- Help manage engineering changes and revision control
- Support continuous product improvement initiatives
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering (BSME) from an accredited U.S. university
- Minimum of 3 years of mechanical engineering and product development experience
- Strong SolidWorks design experience
- Experience designing real-world production products and assemblies
- Experience with sheet metal, plastics, machined parts, welded assemblies, and injection molded components
- Experience creating production drawings and applying GD&T tolerances
- Strong mechanical problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently while supporting a fast-moving engineering team
- Strong communication and organizational skills

Compensation
Salary range: $90,435 to $114,932 per year
