Director, UX Research
Job Description
Join NBCUniversal and help shape research that improves Peacock product experiences. This hybrid role in New York brings an opportunity to lead a research roadmap, set methodological standards, and translate findings into strategic, actionable recommendations across the product lifecycle.
What you’ll do
- Partner with cross-functional teams across Commerce and Viewing Product, Design, Analytics, and Product Marketing to advise on research questions and select appropriate methods and tools
- Own and drive a research roadmap that aligns stakeholder and product needs to organizational goals
- Conduct research across the product lifecycle, using approaches such as unmoderated prototype tests, lab studies, online interviews, observational tests, surveys, benchmark studies, and diary studies
- Manage complex, overlapping schedules across multiple projects to ensure on-time delivery
- Set new standards for methodological rigor and research excellence
- Create memos and reports that simplify complex ideas, highlight timely insights, and clearly communicate recommendations
- Influence strategic and tactical product roadmaps through cross-functional leadership
- Mentor and coach other researchers
- Use AI-enabled tools to streamline and scale repeatable research workflows
- Select and manage vendors and external research agencies to secure high-quality deliverables and optimal resource allocation
- Stay current on industry trends and emerging technologies
What you bring
- 10+ years of experience in consumer product research or consumer insights
- Expertise designing, executing, and analyzing a range of qualitative and quantitative methods (including in-depth interviews, surveys, prototype tests, card sorts, diary studies, focus groups, correlation analyses, and more)
- Proven success using data and insights to influence business decisions and drive strategic product value through stakeholder influence
- Ability to balance ownership of multiple projects while also leading broader initiatives
- Strong capability to dig into data, find insights beyond what’s visible, and connect findings back to underlying questions
- Familiarity with behavioral data analytics and working alongside data science and analytics teams
- Experience adapting research methodologies for business measurement and reporting
- Experience combining insights across research efforts and behavioral data insights
- Experience leading collaborative, cross-disciplinary efforts
- Exceptional presentation and storytelling skills

Additional details
- Location: New York, NY (hybrid). Requires contributing from the office a minimum of four days per week. The company may change in-office requirements at any time.
- Salary: $175,000 - $200,000 per year. Bonus and long-term incentive eligible.
