Engagement Operations Team Product Owner

The Engagement Operations Team Product Owner will partner with the Army Program Acquisition Executive Fires (PEO Fires) Integrated Fires Mission Command (IFMC) Project Office to shape and prioritize engagement software development. This role will set sprint and product increment direction in coordination with program management and provide leadership visibility into status, risks, and mission impact.

Role Overview

The Engagement Operations Team Product Owner (PO) will prioritize and validate development activities for the Engagement team. The PO will guide the development effort, establish sprint and product increment priorities with program management, and deliver technical briefings to leadership on progress, recommended courses of action, competing capabilities, performance considerations, and risks and impacts to the IFMC mission.

Responsibilities

• Own prioritization and validation of engagement software development for the Engagement team.
• Review and apply Systems Engineering concepts, designs, and algorithms, providing guidance to the development team.
• Coordinate with program management to define priorities for capabilities and defects for each product increment and sprint.
• Provide technical briefings and advisement to leadership covering status, recommended courses of action, competing capabilities, performance, risks, and impacts to the IFMC mission.

Requirements

• Basic understanding of Engagement Operations (EO), including engagement planning/scheduling, threat evaluation, target selection, battlespace prediction, and sensor resource management.
• Ability to provide oversight for an EO software development team and verify work against agreed-upon acceptance criteria, including participation in code reviews.
• Ability to work directly with Agile software developers.
• Fluency in the Microsoft Office toolset.
• US citizenship.
• Bachelor’s degree (or advanced degree) from an accredited college in engineering, the sciences, or mathematics (ABET preferred).
• Minimum 10 years combined Government/DoD experience performing the essential duties listed above.
• Ability to obtain a Secret security clearance or higher.

Additional Qualifications

• Knowledge in IBCS, PATRIOT, MEADS, THAAD, C2BMC, or AEGIS.
• Familiarity with current EO implementations in one or more DoD services.
• Prior Product Owner experience on a SCRUM team is a plus.

• Candidate must be able to obtain a Secret security clearance or higher.
