IT Product Owner
Job Description
This onsite IT Product Owner role partners with business stakeholders to own and deliver one or more critical products from concept through execution.
Responsibilities
- Own product definition activities in partnership with business stakeholders and internal teams
- Apply industry and domain expertise to surface differentiating product features
- Define and contribute to the Minimum Viable Product (MVP) based on business objectives and strategic goals
- Maintain the product vision and roadmap across the full product lifecycle
- Represent customer and business needs in day-to-day product decisions
- Create, manage, prioritize, and maintain the product backlog
- Develop and maintain product requirements, including user stories and acceptance criteria
- Work with engineering teams to clarify requirements and address technical trade-offs
- Prioritize features using business value, customer impact, and organizational goals
- Collaborate with business stakeholders, architects, engineers, designers, and other Product Owners to define and deliver solutions
- Facilitate alignment on medium to complex business challenges with stakeholders
- Communicate planned functionality, product enhancements, and delivery progress effectively
- Stay current on industry, market, and operational trends
- Identify product enhancement opportunities and process improvements
- Collect feedback from users and stakeholders, including competitive market analysis, to inform product decisions
- Drive continuous improvement across product management, testing, and delivery processes
- Manage multiple concurrent initiatives while meeting deadlines and maintaining quality standards
- Adapt to changing priorities in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
- Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business, or related field (equivalent experience considered)
- 5+ years of experience in Product Ownership, Product Management, Product Definition, or related discipline
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments
- Strong understanding of the software development lifecycle (SDLC)
- Proven ability to collaborate with cross-functional technical and business teams
- Experience with backlog management tools such as Jira or similar platforms
