Junior Product Manager – Astronomy Manufacturing
Job Description
CELESTRON offers a collaborative, hybrid role in Torrance, CA with a clear path to impact in astronomy manufacturing. You will help move telescope products from concept to the night sky while working cross-functionally with Engineering, Marketing, Operations, and QA. Responsibilities
- Collaborate with internal engineering and manufacturing teams, including Asia-based vendors, to evaluate samples, track design changes, and uphold quality standards.
- Perform market analysis by assessing competitors, monitoring industry trends, evaluating rival products, and proposing new features or pricing strategies.
- Own the product timeline and coordinate alignment across Engineering, Marketing, Operations, and QA to achieve on-time launches.
- Create user-facing documentation such as manuals, Quick Start Guides, and FAQs. Support SAP product setups and provide precise technical specifications for marketing channels.
- Conduct hands-on outdoor testing, manage the sample inventory, and represent CELESTRON at trade shows and product demonstrations as needed.
Requirements
- 3 to 5 years of experience as a Junior Product Manager in consumer goods.
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field is strongly preferred.
- Genuine interest in astronomy, telescopes, and optical equipment with a drive to become a subject-matter expert.
- Excellent technical writing skills for manuals and guides, plus strong cross-functional communication habits.
- Proficiency with Word, Excel, and Teams, with familiarity or experience using SAP.

Compensation & Location
Compensation: USD 70,000 - 90,000 per year, based on experience.
