Job Description

Tract Capital is seeking an experienced Principal Product Manager to lead the development of advanced mechanical systems for data center infrastructure. This onsite role on Mercer Island, WA partners with engineering, manufacturing, and operations to shape strategy and ensure cost, quality, scalability, and deployment targets are met. The position offers a salary range of USD 200,000 to 300,000 per year.

Responsibilities

  • Articulate the vision, requirements, and roadmaps for advanced mechanical infrastructure offerings.
  • Convert business goals, customer needs, and infrastructure strategy into a prioritized product plan.
  • Balance performance with cost, manufacturability, reliability, scalability, and deployment requirements.
  • Guide end-to-end product development from concept validation through New Product Introduction to production.
  • Manage stage-gate processes, schedules, budgets, risks, and launch activities.
  • Collaborate with engineering to transition prototypes into scalable manufacturing.
  • Oversee relationships with OEMs, contract manufacturers, fabricators, and key suppliers.
  • Monitor supplier performance across quality, cost, delivery, capacity, and production readiness.
  • Partner with suppliers on manufacturing strategies, value engineering, and design-to-cost initiatives.
  • Work with Engineering, Construction, Commissioning, Procurement, Operations, Finance, and external partners to ensure successful launches.
  • Act as the primary product owner, aligning stakeholders on priorities, scope, risks, and execution.
  • Ensure products integrate seamlessly into design, construction, commissioning, and long-term operations.
  • Support validation, testing, quality standards, and regulatory compliance.
  • Lead root cause analysis, corrective actions, and ongoing product improvement.
  • Collaborate with Supply Chain on sourcing strategies, production planning, inventory, and launch readiness.
  • Communicate product strategy, priorities, risks, and status to technical teams and executive leadership.
  • Ensure documentation, installation guides, commissioning procedures, and training materials support deployments.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical field.
  • 10+ years of product management, product development, or technical leadership experience.
  • 5+ years supporting data center infrastructure, mission-critical facilities, or complex mechanical systems.
  • Proven track record delivering mechanical products from concept through production.
  • Experience with HVAC, cooling systems, thermal management, fluid distribution, or related technologies.
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD, Revit, CFD, or similar engineering tools.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing, NPI, quality systems, and supplier management.

Expected Salary Range
