Job Description
SilverXis is hiring a Product Design Lead to design and develop high-speed interconnect mechanical products across the full lifecycle, from concept and validation through production launch and ongoing improvement. This onsite role in Valley Green, PA focuses on delivering manufacturable designs that meet electrical performance, quality, cost, and industry requirements through close collaboration with engineering, manufacturing, suppliers, customers, and commercial teams.
What you’ll do
- Convert industry and customer inputs into clear product requirements and mechanical designs.
- Work with Signal Integrity and Mechanical Integrity teams to satisfy electrical, reliability, and specification targets.
- Run tolerance stack-up analysis and support decisions on materials and coatings.
- Lead design for manufacturability across prototyping, tooling, qualification, and high-volume production readiness.
- Create test plans and technical documentation, and support quality investigations and continuous improvement efforts.
- Provide technical support to customers, product marketing, and sales.
- Contribute to cost reduction through material alternatives and manufacturing-efficiency improvements.
What you bring
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (or related discipline).
- 7+ years of experience in Mechanical Connector Design.
- Proficiency with SolidWorks or Creo, plus experience with GD&T, tolerance analysis, material selection, and FEA tools.
- Knowledge of signal-integrity considerations, copper alloys, engineering plastics, stamping, molding, and plating.
- Experience with New Product Development (NPD/NPI) from concept through mass production.
- Basic electrical engineering knowledge and comfort using Microsoft Office.
Tools and domains
SolidWorks, Creo, GD&T, FEA, and Microsoft Office.
Preferred experience
- Hands-on experience with industry-standard connector designs such as USB, PCIe, Ethernet, QSFP, SFP, DDR, Automotive, IEC, EIA.
- Exposure to high-speed connectors, RF packaging, SI/PI, FEA, and Telecom/Networking domains.
- Familiarity with PLM systems.
Location and pay
Work model: In person (Valley Green, Pennsylvania).
Compensation: $40.00 per hour.
