Product Design Lead, Workforce Management (Mobile)
Job Description
Rippling is looking for a Product Design Lead to own the Time mobile experience and the Timeclock app within its workforce management suite. You will lead two high-usage mobile products and drive AI-enabled workflows that improve how hourly teams are managed. This onsite role is based in New York, NY, with a salary range of USD 153,000 to 255,000 per year.
Responsibilities
- Design mobile-first experiences for modern workforce management, including clock-in and clock-out flows, schedule views, shift swaps, break tracking, timecard approvals, and the Timeclock kiosk app.
- Set what great mobile looks like at Rippling by establishing patterns, interaction standards, and quality benchmarks that extend beyond Time into the broader platform.
- Engage closely with customers to understand how managers and admins run hourly teams, identify where workflows break, where complexity hides, and where design can drive real business impact.
- Design scalable capabilities and platform patterns that work across multiple products, customer segments, and use cases to create coherent experiences on the Rippling platform.
- Incorporate AI as a core part of the design process to clarify problem spaces, generate and refine requirements, explore edge cases, and stress-test solutions before production.
- Develop hands-on understanding of evolving AI capabilities and translate that knowledge into product and design decisions.
- Prototype with AI-assisted tools to quickly materialize ideas, explore realistic interactions, and validate solutions through working flows rather than static mocks alone.
Requirements
- 6+ years of end-to-end product design experience, with a portfolio that demonstrates strong mobile craft and the delivery of complex products.
- Active use of large language models (Claude, ChatGPT, or similar) in your design workflow for research, requirements, copy, or exploration.
- Comfort with AI-assisted prototyping tools (Cursor, Claude Code, or similar), even if production code is not involved.
- A strong eye for craft in both interaction and visual design, with the ability to set a high standard and drive quality across teams.
- Exceptional communication skills that make abstract concepts understandable and guide cross-functional partners through decisions.
- A relentless customer focus and the ability to uncover real user needs and translate them into design decisions that solve real problems.
