Product Manager (Engineering Leader 1)

M.C. Dean, Inc’s Security and Electronic Systems (SES) business unit is seeking a Product Manager to drive software delivery and lifecycle management that extends and integrates OT solutions with customer business systems across the Software Development Life Cycle. In this onsite role in Tysons, VA, you will translate user needs into product requirements, guide roadmap and backlog execution, and lead validation and adoption improvements using measurable KPIs.

Working across internal and external stakeholder needs, you will help shape what gets built, align engineering delivery to defined requirements, and ensure product readiness through activities such as UAT and ongoing performance monitoring.

What you will do

• Own the product lifecycle end to end, from concept through implementation.
• Capture, document, and communicate customer needs, then translate requirements into features and user stories that the technical team can execute.
• Define and prioritize product roadmaps to reflect stakeholder needs across the organization and customer set.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to define product requirements and support timely delivery.
• Manage the product backlog, prioritize features, and help stakeholders make trade-off decisions.
• Lead day-to-day software operations by managing productivity to keep release targets on track, balancing resources and resolving blockers.
• Create, manage, and maintain system documentation, including design and configuration plans, design diagrams, task-oriented procedures, and operations and maintenance plans.
• Plan and conduct user testing (UAT).
• Establish KPIs, identify gaps, and improve product performance and adoption.
• Lead product demos, training sessions, and other stakeholder enablement activities for internal and external audiences.

What you will need

• Ability to obtain a TS/SCI clearance is REQUIRED, and applicants selected will be subject to a government security investigation; must meet eligibility requirements, including U.S. Citizenship, for access to classified information.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related Technical Discipline plus 7+ years of progressive experience in product management and software delivery.
• SAFe® Scrum Master, SAFe® for Teams, SAFe Product Owner/Product Manager, or a similar agile project management certification.
• Proven track record launching and managing complex software products.
• Strong understanding of application lifecycle management systems such as Atlassian Jira, Azure DevOps, GitLab to manage, monitor, and report software project status and performance.
• Working knowledge and hands-on experience with MS Azure and cloud services, including compute, database, storage, network virtualization, and security services.
• Working understanding of network infrastructure and concepts of operation and protocols including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, SNMP, Syslog.
• Demonstrated time management and organization skills in a fast-paced, multi-discipline team environment.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Proficiency with workflow and lifecycle management systems (for example, Atlassian Jira).
