Product Manager - EPC Technology Integrations
Job Description
Burns & McDonnell is seeking a Product Manager for EPC Technology Integrations to provide enterprise-level strategic leadership and practical guidance for integrating data, documents, and workflows across EPC application suites. The role bridges product management with enterprise architecture while coordinating internal and external stakeholders to deliver cross-stack integration solutions.
Role Overview
In this position, you will lead coordination and planning for vendor and industry engagement, serve as a primary point of contact for external product sales and support across multiple technology stacks, and help define product strategy and roadmap alignment across EPC applications. You will also contribute to enterprise data standards, governance alignment, and technical requirements to ensure stakeholder and market needs are met.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain external vendor relationships, evaluating how vendor solutions integrate with other vendor solutions to strengthen enterprise project processes and workflows across BMcD.
- Evaluate external partnerships, licensing opportunities, and emerging applications supporting middleware integration efforts.
- Research technical and industry expertise related to competitive offerings.
- Coordinate external vendor product demonstrations and review scopes of work for integration-related external services requests.
- Participate in technical committees, professional organizations, seminars, trade shows, and conferences to promote BMcD capabilities and experience.
- Maintain technology neutrality and avoid bias toward any specific technology or vendor.
- Lead planning and coordination for BMcD involvement in industry conferences, including writing and presenting strategies, technical papers, white papers, conference presentations, and business plans as required.
- Collaborate with Construction to define and present product strategy and roadmap across EPC applications to internal stakeholders.
- Build business justification for data standards, broker data agreements between groups, act as an integrator of data stewards, and establish minimum data quality standards.
- Architect and design integration solutions and software configurations, guiding development and actively implementing solutions that support complex business requirements across EPC application suites.
- Consult on application architectures and data practices supporting both Information Technology and Operations Technology domains.
- Coordinate with internal teams to align solutions with enterprise data governance, financial parameters, and risk analysis.
- Monitor the current-state solution portfolio to identify opportunities to improve or replace technologies misaligned with business requirements.
- Bridge silos between engineering and construction technology stacks and across global practices.
- Develop and implement product metrics and tools to evaluate cross-platform performance and adoption.
- Collaborate with internal Community of Practices to encourage and highlight successes in cross-platform integration.
- Develop marketing collateral with corporate and GP marketing teams.
- Coordinate with Corporate Quality for adherence to QA/QC processes and with Corporate Change Management for large change initiatives.
- Comply with all policies and standards, and define and present product strategy and roadmap for internal stakeholder approval.
- Manage internal Community(ies) of Practice for EPC technology stack collaboration and develop and manage Objectives and Key Results.
- Coordinate with IT software procurement to review financial and usage information.
Additional Technology and Strategy Focus
- Understand emerging or disruptive technologies, including agentic AI integration, and evolve strategy and roadmap to create opportunities for practical application that support project execution.
- Assess the impact of new and existing technology investment on the business.
- Develop technical requirements for products with internal and external stakeholders so stakeholder and market needs are achieved.
Required Education and Experience
- Bachelor degree in engineering, architecture, environmental science, business, or a related degree from an accredited program, plus 7 years of relevant consulting experience (required).
- Expert experience in investigating, evaluating, selecting, and driving product development for an organization.
- Strong facilitation, collaboration, organization, and problem-solving skills.
- Broad knowledge of project management methodologies and tools, including Microsoft Project or an equivalent tool.
Preferred Qualifications
- 11 years of relevant industry and technology experience providing technology strategies and integration solutions across multiple applications and technical platforms.
- Thorough understanding of EPC application suites (Autodesk, Bentley, Octave, Esri, Trimble, Oracle, and/or Procore with flexibility for other emerging platforms) and how to integrate data, workflows, and business processes across and between them.
- EPC project delivery experience utilizing more than one vendor’s software suite.
- Experience integrating across multiple software suites on client projects.
- Experience in enterprise transformation projects using industry-standard solutions and middleware technologies.
- Strong ability to influence or lead project execution and guide EPC teams through cultural and operational transitions.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including application data analysis and transformation at various layers of the architecture.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to ascertain customer concerns, consider alternatives, and provide guidance.
- Strong organizational and prioritization skills to support multiple customers with differing needs.
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
- Experience delivering presentations to senior-level executives and managers.
- Proven experience leading and completing projects from business proposal through post-production support (preferred).
- Demonstrated success related to budget, savings, and/or profit margins in completed projects.
- Ability to filter and distill relevant information and convey business and technical concepts to diverse client and internal technical teams.
