Product Owner

AXIS Insurance invites you to join as the Product Owner for AXIS Global Operations, onsite in New York, NY. The role focuses on defining the product vision, managing the backlog, and driving agile delivery and operational transformation. The package includes a competitive base salary of USD 175,000 to 260,000 per year, plus incentive compensation tied to performance and a comprehensive benefits program.

Responsibilities

• Establish and communicate a product vision and a roadmap aligned with AXIS strategy and stakeholder needs.
• Lead operational readiness for product launches, ensuring systems and processes are aligned.
• Convert requirements into user stories and acceptance criteria for agile delivery teams.
• Oversee and prioritize the Operations backlog to emphasize high-impact initiatives.
• Guide sprint planning, reviews, retrospectives, and daily standups with delivery teams.
• Monitor and report Agile delivery metrics to assess team performance and product impact.
• Promote Agile principles and coach team members on best practices and continuous improvement.
• Continuously capture and integrate user feedback into product iterations.
• Empower cross-functional teams to make decisions and deliver value independently.
• Utilize Agile tools to manage backlogs, track progress, and communicate priorities.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in Insurance with at least 3 years as a Product Owner in an Agile environment
• Background in Operations transformation and insurance systems integration
• Knowledge of P&C Commercial and Specialty lines, including North American and Global Operations
• Strong communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills
• Ability to express complex ideas clearly and visually
• Familiarity with Excel, Power BI, and PowerPoint
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Computer Science, or related field
