Product Owner

HealthEdge is seeking a Product Owner to connect healthcare claims administration business needs with stakeholder input, turning them into clear, testable work for Agile engineering teams. In this role, you will own the product backlog, guide refinement through Scrum ceremonies, and help ensure delivered capabilities align with customer and stakeholder expectations.

What you will do

• Own and manage the product backlog, making sure items are well-defined, prioritized, and aligned to sprint goals
• Create and refine epics, user stories, and acceptance criteria that are clear, testable, and customer-centric
• Run or participate in backlog grooming and sprint planning with the Scrum team
• Participate in daily standups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives as an active team member
• Ensure stories meet the definition of ready and the definition of done before development and release
• Collaborate with stakeholders, subject matter experts, and internal teams to gather and refine product requirements
• Use AI tools (where applicable) to support creation of epics, themes, and user stories
• Conduct gap analysis and validate requirements for completeness and feasibility
• Support refinement of use cases, workflows, and functional documentation
• Act as the primary point of contact for development teams during sprint execution
• Partner with UX/UI designers so user stories align with design principles and usability goals
• Support QA by clarifying acceptance criteria and reviewing test cases as needed
• Coordinate with other Product Owners to manage feature interdependencies
• Capture feature requests, enhancement ideas, and feedback in stakeholder meetings
• Provide internal updates on backlog priorities, delivery timelines, and sprint progress
• Apply working knowledge of healthcare claims workflows, billing terminology, and reimbursement processes
• Support compliance with healthcare regulations including HIPAA and HITECH in collaboration with internal teams
• Translate complex healthcare requirements into understandable product features

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Healthcare Administration, Computer Science, or a related field
• Self-motivated professional with strong ability to identify, analyze, and resolve problems and issues effectively
• 2+ years of product owner experience; healthcare technology or claims administration experience is required
• Familiarity with Agile software development and Scrum methodology
• Proficiency with Jira (or similar Agile tools) for backlog management
• Basic understanding of software development processes and technical constraints
• Familiarity with collaboration tools such as Confluence, Miro, and Figma
• Strong written and verbal communication skills for conveying requirements and feedback
• High attention to detail and strong organizational skills
• Ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• Comfortable working with cross-functional teams and resolving blockers quickly
• 2+ years of experience working with AI tools for product development, requirements engineering, or business analysis (preferred)
• Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO) or similar Agile certification
• Understanding of healthcare data standards such as HL7, FHIR, and X12 EDI

• Salary: USD 107,000 - 114,000 per year

• Work across multiple time zones in a hybrid or remote work environment
