Product Owner 4 - Centaur Exploration Airborne
Job Description
Own Agile delivery for SLS-specific Centaur Upper Stage capabilities while leading technical integration for the 180k Centaur Upper Stage program.
Responsibilities
- Set and communicate product vision and roadmap for assigned features or subsystems.
- Act as Team Lead for product team(s), defining objectives, delegating work, setting priorities, and driving accountability.
- Maintain and refine the product backlog to keep alignment with program objectives and stakeholder needs.
- Lead Agile ceremonies; partner with Scrum Masters on planning; use JIRA and Confluence to track progress.
- Analyze and report team metrics and drive continuous improvement.
- Coach and mentor team members in Agile principles, technical rigor, and professional development.
- Convert stakeholder requirements into actionable, testable objectives with clear acceptance criteria.
- Manage competing priorities across internal and external stakeholders.
- Lead multidisciplinary integration across cross-technology airborne development teams.
- Coordinate with System Architects, Chief Engineers, and other Product Owners to support seamless integration across the SLS Centaur program.
- Apply proactive issue and opportunity framework to manage cost, technical, and schedule risk.
- Communicate early and often across engineering, program management, supply chain, and customer teams.
- Present technical and programmatic status to leadership.
- Promote a collaborative team culture focused on safety, technical rigor, and learning.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering from an accredited university.
- 6+ years of engineering experience across lifecycle stages including proposal, SCR, SRR, PDR, CDR, build, and test.
- Launch vehicle experience supporting flight or ground systems.
- Proven ability to coordinate across multiple engineering functions such as Mechanical, Strength/Stress, Propulsion, Thermal, Avionics, Software, Manufacturing, Production, and related areas.
- Track record building and maintaining strong internal and external relationships, including customer engagement.
- Demonstrated technical leadership and team collaboration.

Preferred Qualifications
- Deep technical expertise in launch vehicles or spacecraft, including experience integrating complex subsystems and leading trade studies, risk and opportunity identification, and root-cause investigations.
- Experience leading engineering teams with Agile project management practices and tools, including JIRA, Confluence, and iterative delivery.
- Experience across multiple engineering functions such as Mechanical, Electrical, Structures, Propulsion, Avionics, Software, with design, analysis, and test background.
- Supplier management and coordination experience.
Compensation
- USD 121,307 - 202,178 per year
