Product Owner - Transformers Valuestream
Job Description
Qualitrol is hiring an Agile Product Owner to lead product development within the Transformers Value Stream, based onsite in Fairport, NY.
Responsibilities
- Identify and articulate end-user pain points and define the expected end-user experience across the full product lifecycle
- Develop a deep understanding of user personas, business workflows, and recurring pain points
- Create and maintain comprehensive multigeneration product plans, including end-user feature detail
- Define and document product user stories
- Own and prioritize the product backlog, selecting features and enhancements for the development squads
- Partner with the Value Stream Leader and Product Marketing to set strategic priorities and support successful product launches
- Establish and lead customer advisory councils in collaboration with the Value Stream Leader and Product Marketing teams to collect feedback and insights
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in a Science or Engineering related field (or equivalent experience)
- Strong understanding of Agile methodologies and frameworks
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for stakeholder engagement
- Ability to analyze market trends and user feedback
- Experience defining user personas, developing product roadmaps, and managing backlogs
- Strategic thinking and decision-making abilities
- Certification in Agile methodologies (e.g. Certified Scrum Product Owner)
- Good knowledge of medium to high voltage power transformers and asset protection and monitoring products
Preferred Skills / Experience
- Proven experience as an Agile Product Owner or similar product management role
- Hands-on backlog management experience across the full product lifecycle
- Understanding of the power utility industry and asset protection and monitoring players
- Knowledge of asset protection and monitoring products, including sensor and monitoring system combinations for temperature, pressure, flow, partial discharge, and dissolved gas analysis
- Proficiency in Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban) and backlog tools (Jira)
- Experience with distributed data acquisition, substation automation, grid monitoring, or industrial IoT solutions
- Experience establishing customer panels and driving user-driven product enhancements
- Experience going to Gemba to map customer workflows and identify use cases that support world-class customer experience

Compensation
- Salary range: USD 123,800 - 200,000 per yearly
- Bonus eligibility: eligible for bonus as part of the total compensation package
