Job Description

The Retail Risk Product Owner will lead product development and ongoing enhancements for a new Loss Forecast Platform supporting CCAR and internal loss forecast workflows. This role defines the product direction and partners with agile teams to deliver a robust, scalable, and compliant platform in a regulated environment.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and enhancement of a new Loss Forecast Platform for use in CCAR and internal loss forecast processes.
  • Act as the connection point between Retail and Wealth Risk business needs, risk management requirements, and technical development teams.
  • Define product vision, strategy, roadmap, and feature priorities for next-generation risk analytics and forecasting capabilities.
  • Ensure the platform is robust, scalable, and compliant, including alignment with business objectives and regulatory expectations.
  • Conduct market research, competitive analysis, and gather stakeholder feedback to identify opportunities and inform product decisions.
  • Translate strategic objectives into detailed product requirements and user stories to improve execution efficiency.
  • Serve as primary liaison across risk management, finance, technology, and other stakeholders to capture, analyze, and prioritize requirements for CCAR, retail loss forecasting models, and additional platform functionalities.
  • Maintain a well-groomed product backlog, ensuring stories are clearly defined, estimated, and prioritized by business value, regulatory urgency, and technical feasibility.
  • Facilitate workshops and discussions to elicit detailed requirements and resolve ambiguities.
  • Provide guidance to development teams during sprint cycles to support accurate understanding and implementation of features.
  • Participate in agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.
  • Oversee user acceptance testing (UAT) to confirm delivered solutions meet requirements and quality standards.
  • Maintain in-depth knowledge of retail credit risk methodologies and relevant regulatory guidance, including CCAR, DFAST, CECL, and SR 11-7.
  • Ensure platform design supports data governance, model risk management, and auditability for regulatory submissions.
  • Collaborate with model development and validation teams to integrate advanced loss forecasting models effectively into the platform.
  • Communicate product updates, progress, risks, and challenges to senior management and key stakeholders.
  • Manage expectations and negotiate scope trade-offs to achieve optimal outcomes.
  • Monitor platform performance, user feedback, and regulatory changes to identify areas for continuous improvement and innovation.
  • Champion a data-driven approach to product development, using analytics to inform decisions.

Required Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience in product management, business analysis, or a similar financial services role with a strong focus on retail risk.
  • 5+ years of direct experience with CCAR, DFAST, or similar regulatory stress testing frameworks and loss forecasting processes.
  • Proven success delivering complex technology platforms or products in an agile environment.
  • Strong understanding of retail credit products, including credit cards and mortgages, and associated risk drivers.
  • Knowledge of risk modeling concepts including PD, LGD, and EAD, and end-to-end flows from data to models to regulatory consumption.
  • Knowledge of relevant technologies such as Python, UI/UX, and SQL, and the platforms used in regulatory processes.
  • Deep expertise in retail credit risk, CCAR-related regulatory stress testing, and agile product management methodologies.
  • Ability to bridge Retail and Wealth Risk stakeholder needs across business, risk management, and technical teams.
  • Experience working closely with agile development teams (scrum masters, developers, QA) through the full product lifecycle.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Ability to define and execute on product vision, strategy, roadmap, and features for next-generation risk analytics and forecasting.
  • Ability to ensure platform design supports data governance, model risk management, and auditability for regulatory submissions.
  • Ability to monitor platform performance, user feedback, and regulatory changes for continuous improvement.
  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, Economics, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related quantitative field.

  • Compensation: USD 100 - 110 per hourly
